Nintendo's official 3DS StreetPass Day is going down June 25th
Being an early adopter usually means you’re the only one in your circle to own the latest thing-a-majig. That being said, it’s safe to say that not a lot of people know another person who owns a 3DS, let alone one that they lives close by. And with that comes an inherent problem; no opportunities to StreetPass with each other! Well, Nintendo hopes to remedy this and hopefully add some StreetPass Mii’s to your shiny new, 3D handheld by announcing a worldwide StreetPass Day, happening on Saturday, June 25th.
The original idea behind the StreetPass feature was to have 3DS owners walk by each other in close proximity and magically send and receive information, characters, or even items for use on a variety of games. However, for those who don’t live in highly populated areas like New York or LA, it’s hard to get by on just the one or two StreetPasses you’ve gotten within the past 3 months. So Nintendo issued a press release today, detailing the efforts to get people connected with each other, even if just by a simple walk across the park.

The page on MeetUp.com makes it easier for 3DS communities in local based areas to get started with the StreetPass craze rather than meeting and communicating on Facebook pages and such, as they have been doing for the past.
