Pinza small cord holder review

What is a Pinza? Well, it has to be the classiest cable holder on the face of the planet! Constructed from a single chunk of stainless steel, this cord holder does its job quite well but wears a price tag of $12. Twelve bucks to hold your cords down ain’t cheap so is it worth it?

Features

  • Does a metal cord holder have any features?

Our Impressions

The Pinza comes in a cube shaped cardboard box stuffed full of confetti. After digging through the package for some time, we came across a miniature cardboard cylinder (the type that they wrap toilet paper around) with the actual cord holder.

The first thing we noticed when we took the Pinza out was its weight. The Pinza is extremely solid feeling and is made of a high quality aluminum with a brushed metal surface. The unit we received was the small version, measuring about 4 cm wide. Each face of the prism is shaped like a guitar pick; a large wedge is cut out of the middle to allow 1 or 2 cords through. You could probably shove in 3 or 4 but that would be a job for the large Pinza. A durable elastic band is wrapped around each end of the cord holder, one to keep in the cables once you put them in and the other one to stabilize the whole thing. Plus they keep the cord holder from sliding around on your desk. The words pinza, pinzacord.com, and pat pend. are laser etched onto the body of the cord holder.

In actual use, we found the Pinza to be quite handy for controlling the plethora of cables on our desk. When those stray iPhone charging cables are not plugged in, they normally slide straight off of our desk, leaving us to scratch our heads and wonder where they’ve gone. The Pinza kept them in our reach whenever we needed a cable.

Overall

After testing this product for some time, we found that the Pinza worked exceptionally well in our cord taming tasks. However, at the end of the day, not many people will be paying $12 for something that could be accomplished by a piece of Scotch tape. That said, if you’re the type of person who owns an iMac and obsesses over chunks of aluminum, we have no doubt the Pinza is for you.

Pro’s
