So Nintendo is NOT Exhibiting at CES 2011
Contrary to what its press release said, the CEA is now saying they accidentally mentioned Nintendo when listing companies who would be attending and exhibiting at CES 2011. Chalk it up to a typo, but I’m sure people are pretty bummed about this because I know I sure am. And while Nintendo will be holding private meetings through appointments, I can’t help but feel that they’re squandering an excellent opportunity to show off, not just their newest upcoming gaming platform, but a piece of technology that boasts 3D in a way that the tech industry would love to check out and see for themselves - it’s the perfect stage.
But I’m assuming their recent announcement of Nintendo World 2011 (January 8th - 10th), an event meant to showcase the new 3DS handheld to the public may be weighing too much on their minds to worry about CES. But here’s the thing; Why keep something like that within the confines of Japan only? Wouldn’t it be smarter to boast their newest edition to the original “Gameboy” line to the world and get everyone excited just as they first did with the Wii?
Y’know, sometimes I wonder.
