Sony recalling millions of Bravia tv's since they're exploding
If you’re a Sony Bravia tv owner you may want to pay attention for this next bit. Sony has sent out an official recall on a number of models in their Bravia line-up. Why exactly are they doing this? Oh you know, the usual… spontaneously exploding. Wait, what?!
Reports from Bloomberg are coming in that 11 incidents from the nation of Japan have included TV’s smoking, melting, and even in some cases, exploding. Outside of the land of the rising sun there have yet to be any problems, and so because of that Sony is currently asking customers if they want they can send in their televisions for voluntary recall.

Commenting on the status of their TV business, Sony’s Executive President Deputy / CEO, Kazuo Hirai had this to say:
“We all know it’s a challenging business, but that doesn’t equate to ‘We should be out of the TV business […] ‘ The question that needs to be asked, which I am trying to engage in very aggressively, is, ‘What does it take to turn the business around?’ as opposed to, ‘Let’s leave the business or other options.’”
This particular quote was taken before the recall, so his thoughts may have changed a bit now that a couple faulty design choices may have inadvertantly caused the company millions of dollars. Thank goodness no one was hurt in any of the 11 Japanese incidents, otherwise this could’ve easily turned into something much much worse. — Like worse than PSN’s downtime worse!
