Street Fighter X Tekken gets Cinematic and Gameplay trailers

It’s been nearly a year since we last heard of Street Fighter X Tekken but now that the embargo on Capcom’s annual Captivate event in Hawaii has been lifted, we’re being reintroduced to the fighting match-up of the century with a couple of new trailers, including one with nothing but solid, fast paced gameplay. Though I wonder when we’ll get a glimpse as to what Tekken X Street Fighter is going to look like? Namco, apparently the  ball is in your court.

Y’gotta love the way how Capcom is able to add a little bit of spice on everything they do; notice the water effects on the cinematic opening, as it’s a continuation of the ink blots from SF IV, and the sketch art from Super SF IV. Also, I gotta hit on the tag-team system; does it look a little wonky or is just me? Maybe I’ve been playing too much MvC3 and I’ve gotten used to characters jumping in from all which ways, so seeing these guys just run in from the side looks a little lazy to me.

Confirmed Street Fighters so far are: Ryu, Ken, Guile, Able, and Chun Li.
Confirmed Tekken brawlers at this point: Kazuya, Nina, King, Marduk, and Bob.

This insane title may have been but a dream to fans years ago but after its announcement it’s shaping up to be one heck of a ride. Not much was delved into in terms of a release date or even when we’ll hear more details, but we’re sure that Capcom definitely has something up their sleeve for this year’s upcoming E3 in June.
