Titles for free GBA games for 3DS Ambassadors announced, releasing Dec. 16th
Remember back in summer when Nintendo admitted they sorta boned all those people who paid full price for the 3DS, since they went ahead with an $80 price cut less than 4 months after its release? Yeah, well if you do then you might recall the “3DS Ambassador program” they came up with to show their loyalty to those Nintendrones, I mean customers — what am I saying, I waited in line to pick mine up at midnight — by offering 10 free NES and 10 free GBA games exclusively to them. That being said, the NES games came out in September, and now finally the GBA games are only days away from being downloadable.
While Nintendo of America North is still mum on details (for the moment at least), Japan and Europe are slated to receive the following games on December 16th:
Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi’s Island
Mario Kart: Super Circuit
Metroid Fusion
WarioWare Inc. Mega Microgames
Mario vs. Donkey Kong
Wario Land 4
Kirby & The Amazing Mirror
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
F-Zero: Maximum Velocity
Ummm…. wow! Nintendo did not short-change their loyal ‘drones one bit, did they? Giving them pretty much the best games released for the Gameboy Advance, and for free. Though what would’ve made the deal even sweeter would’ve been the inclusion of a single Pokemon game. But I have a feeling that might’ve caused some problems between transferring Pokemon between different generations.
Also to note, in the original press release for the Ambassador program back in July, Nintendo let out that while the NES games would become available to the public after the initial run for the Ambassador’s was finished, the same would not hold true for the GBA titles.
So yeah, if you’re not a 3DS Ambassador, again meaning you bought the 3DS at the original $249.99 price tag, then you won’t be getting the aforementioned games above any time soon for your 3DS. Sorry!
