Valve: "We're passing on E3 since we have no games to show"
Valve is for certain one of the most beloved developments studio in the gaming business by far. And how could they not be, what with their continuous teasing of Half-Life 2: Episode 3 with would-be surprises and half-baked announcements. Here’s the recipe for success in video games; make arguably the best FPS experience ever and then say you’re working on its sequel but then never release or talk about it ever again. Boom! Instant hit factory.
Gabe Newell made it known through email last year that there was going to be this HUGE surprise at E3 2010, but then canceled it at the last second already after blogs and fans had gone nuts over the limitless possibilities. And after this year’s release of the critically acclaimed Portal 2, it almost makes complete, utter sense that the company would finally focus on the hit franchise that started it all, Half-Life.
However, that doesn’t seem to be the case, now that Valve has officially said they’ll be skipping out on this year’s E3 (June 7 - 9), due to the fact that they have no games to show. Your proof is below:
It’s okay, you can cry. We are.
