Xbox live is really one big social network intertwined with games. The one thing that is missing is other social networks connecting With xbox live, like Twitter and Facebook. The thing is, anybody wanting to enjoy this service will have to upgrade to a Gold account, the same requierments needed for Netflix instant watch. Silver members will be given a free trial.
Twitter and facebook come hand in hand, and even though it is easy to integrate twitter and facebook together [read more] sometimes you just want to update both at the same time, without opening up your browser and looking at that ugly facebook website
Inspired by elegent experience with social media and brought to reality by We are Fallon, Skimmer creates a truely indulging, rich experience to your Tweets and, er "Facebooks". The interesting thing is it runs off the Adobe AIR framework and is an ultra versitile twitter client, which can run on any machine, Mac or PC :)
The cool part is (Not like there isn't one :) is that the program looks so god damn cool, you'll find yourself tweeting and facebooking at once, in 10 seconds.
They even have a widget builder built in to share all your stuff, right on your site, or blog.
We are all so excited about this new OS by apple, but one thing worries not only Developers, but consumers. Will your apps work with OSX Snow Leopard?
The guys over at the Snow Leopard Wiki have devised a brand new chart that will tell you if your apps will work with Snow Leopard, or not...
Clearly, the PS3 is by far, more than we expected estheticly, and that makes it a good looking peice of hardware, but there is one interesting that it has that stands out from all the other consoles, it looks like it belongs in your living room. It looks like a Blu-ray player, or a small media pc, not like a "console" per say.
Gone is the Spiderman font and the overly glossy, fingerprint magnet, finish and in comes a beautifle matte finish, with piano black accents wrapped in a sleek case.
It is truely a nice looking machine, and you can count on it fitting in even grandmas living room.
This is another fine example of Diggnation showing us that if you give Kevin Rose Hold of anything that shoots T-shirts via a shirt cannon, or in this case using a golf putter to whack a GoDaddy ball into the audience, things get more awesome (and closer to law suits) than Mr. T in a floor wrestling match with 3 year-olds.
Quick excerpt from Mike Adams, about his discover on why his "D" batteries were pure suckage:
Why are Energizer "D" batteries so weak? To find out the answer, I decided to take one apart and see what was inside. As this picture reveals, inside the "D" battery is a much smaller battery! The Energizer "D" battery is actually just a cheap plastic shell surrounding a much smaller, low-capacity battery similar in size and capacity to an "AA" battery (2500 mAh).
Looks like Energizer has been looking to pull fasts ones on us! Here's another excerpt on his conspiracy theory as to why Energizer would do such a sneaky thing:
Think about it: The more consumers use rechargeable batteries, the less they repeatedly buy throway alkaline batteries. Energizer only makes money when people keep buying batteries over and over again. Selling a consumer a high-capacity "D" battery that can be used 1,000 times before needing to be replaced simply doesn't make good business sense to the Energizer company. It makes far more money selling inferior "D" rechargeable batteries that don't deliver much power, effectively forcing consumers who want long-lasting "D" batteries to purchase their throwaway alkaline D batteries. Repeat business is good for battery companies, even if it means creating more landfill through the repeated use of disposable batteries.
The man makes a mean argument. You have to read the rest of the article, which can be read here:
