PS3 Slim is now on sale everywhere in the US

Updated on Aug 27, 2009 by Registered CommenterBrandon Davenport

I am very exited for this. This is the moment allot of PS3 fans have been waiting for! PS3 on sale, Everywhere! Its like Christmas! Exclamation Point!

Since we first heard about Florida going Slim with its PS3s, the PS3 Slim is now popping up in stores in the US and soon Canada. But why so quietly? Why was there no TV ad campaign or Coprate buzz, it just happened. We woke up today, and "oh there are PS3's by the washing machines" as we walk to Best Buy at 9:00 in the morning, for some odd reason(?)

new Get a Mac ad (starring Patrick Warburton) pokes fun at "Lauren"

Warburton, more commonly known as Joe Swanson on Family guy, shows off his stuff as a "top of the line" PC, but our "Lauren" clone is a bit turned off by the fact that all PC's get viruses and will eventually need some sort of maintenance.

I, myself, use PC's and haven't had much, if any, experience with Mac's, besides what I've played with at the Apple store and Best Buy. But I still find the humor in these commercials.

Microsoft Poland a bit Racist?

Hmmm, notice a difference between Microsoft's US and Poland sites? I can understand that Poland doesn't have many black people in their country, but still. Why not Photoshop the Asian guy?

Follow Claire and Leon on twitter as they try to survive Raccoon City

@Claire_Darkside

Haven’t heard from Chris for days. I hope he’s alright.

This town is deserted. Eerily empty and it smells like rotting flesh.

I was just attacked. Damn, an insane looking man with bloodshot eyes jumped me, and this cop, a boy really, came to the rescue.

The rookie cop has a name: Leon. And apparently a place to go: the police station.

@Leon_Darkside

Damn. Overslept, rushing to work. Typical.

This place is scary. There is something completely wrong here.

The whole town has gone mad. They are killing each other, savagely attacking and killing. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Deal of the Day: Vostro 220 w/ 23" Monitor - $369

This desktop could be all you need. Not to mention the stunning 23" monitor that comes along with the package. Not sure if it has a proprietary motherboard since it's a mini tower, but there are some upgrade options given to you before you checkout.

Multi-tasking doesn't mean Productivity

You have dual monitors on your desk, or maybe even 3 or 4 - you think you're pretty fly... right? I mean what can't you do? Need to watch a torrented episode of the Office, while checking your email, and surf t3chh3lp at the same time? That's no problem for you! Or is it?

"Increasingly, people who are looking at their computer screen are frequently watching TV, listening to the radio, maybe reading print media, chatting, texting," said Cliff Nass, a co-author on the study from Stanford University.

"On the computer you could be emailing while you have three chats going on while you're playing World of Warcraft. If you look at classical psychology textbooks, people cannot multitask - but if you walk around on the street, you see lots of people multitasking," he told BBC News.

According to a study reported on by the BBC, there are two types of multi-taskers: high and low 'taskers. Those in the high category were some who consumed two or more different types of media at the same time regularly. The low were those who weren't use to that sort of thing. Each group was put to do certain tasks, many at a time and were graded on how well they could handle all of them.

The results:

"The shocking discovery of this research is that [high multitaskers] are lousy at everything that's necessary for multitasking," Professor Nass said.

"The irony here is that when you ask the low multitaskers, they all think they're much worse at multitasking and the high multitaskers think they're gifted at it."

There you have it. So think hard next time whether you need that 3rd or 4th monitor.
