Rumor: self Branded Google "Phone" coming Soon

The battle of the 2009 smartphones has come down to the Droid vs. the iPhone 3Gs. But don't think that will bet the last we hear of an "iPhone killer", as Google seems to be scuffling behind their white sheets of secrecy to prep themselves for the unveiling of the true Google Phone.

But then again, will Google even be releasing a, quote, unquote, "phone". Latest speculation from TechCrunch suggests that the Google Phone may not be a mobile phone as we see them now, but instead be a mobile device that utilizes VoIP over a data plan, from oh... let's say, At&t - which seems to be already interested in Google's project.

AT&T Gets Pwned By The Courts!

Looks like the iPhone is staying in the island of misfit toys. A federal judge ruled against Ma Bell (AT&T)'s request to have Verizon's map ads removed. This doesn't mean the case is over though. The judge calls the ads "sneaky", and said that it was possible people might misunderstand them because "most people who are watching TV are semi-catatonic." We don't know if that is enough to support a legal order of removing the ads but we will see another day.

Lucky for AT&T, December 16th will be their second chance to argue its case. Either way you look at it though, it's a big win for Verizon, especially with At&t's almost comedic response to the ads.

AT&T Hissy slaps Verizon with really bad attack ads

Verizon had somewhat of a successful ad campaign because they were being the voice for every person in America. They said AT&T's service sucks, and that's what we've wanted to be noticed. AT&T is done sulking in the corner and the company seems to have decided that the only thing to do in the short term is to start 'advertising' right back at Verizon. Unfortunately, the ads look like they have been put together overnight with supplies, like an orange board, a bucket of magnets, and an abandoned orphanage.

Growl 2.0 makes Notifications simple

I always have a tab open either in Firefox or Chrome, whichever I'm working in, that has Gmail loaded up, since I'm in constant need of knowing precious info outside my control. Well, no more. Growl is a Windows only notification tool (open source btw), which has now updated to 2.0, and with the new number comes some very cool features.

First, you'll need to download Growl, and then you'll need to register yourself some applications to integrate into the notifier. Right now I have iTunes and Gmail as my two staples, but you can add tons more; for example Twitter, a System Resource Monitor, and Skype notifications. It's certainly a handy tool to have even if it's just for email.

Modern Warfare 2 Video review - Gameplay and More

Watch on Youtube | Watch on Vimeo

Ricardo, Brandon, and Nick take some time to tear this game down to its roots in this original collaborative review - We explain everything.

Easily the most anticipated game of the year, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 had much to live up to. And usually hype kills a product - under achieving the expectations of old and new fans could potentially derail the game. How could Modern Warfare 2 outdo its predecessor when the original was considered to be perfect; perfect in both campaign and multi-player. I'll tell you how... by going so over-the-top that you would literally forget what even transpired in COD4. But does over-the-top translate into a good game?

ATI Radeon HD 5970 - it's the world's fastest graphics card

Lots of you think your gaming rig has it all goin' on - but it could have a lot more goin' on with the new ATI Radeon HD 5970, dubbed the worlds fastest graphics card, and for a good reason! The new card is one of the first to support Microsoft DirectX 11 and is begging to be Overclocked. Instead of relying on a single GPU, like the already super fast Radeon HD 5870, the 5970 brings a pair of Cypress GPUs linked on a single board by a PCI Express bridge for nearly 5 TeraFLOPS of computer power! As you probably know, you get what you pay for, so you can expect to pay the full $599 suggested retail price when these cards hit shelves today.
