Mophie iPhone credit card reader coming to a CES near you

We have all seen those credit card apps where you have to manually type in every number of their credit card, well not anymore. iPhone accessory maker and recession antidote regular Mophie is about to announce its move to creating a credit card reader and accompanying transaction app for the iPhone. The device appears to be a giant case but with a card reader at the bottom. Look out for more info to emerge at some point during the maelstrom that will be CES 2010.

OmmWriter - Turning word proccessing down a notch - for the better

When you are tired of your busy looking text editing app, or your eyes are sore from looking at a crowded screen, you need a dose of OmmWriter. OmmWriter is a new and upcoming app developed by a group of indie designers whose passion for simple, peaceful design is quite intriguing. The main concept behind OmmWriter is this:

Take something that stresses people out; writing essays, blog posts, documents, and bring some concentration and subtlety to the user experience.  It seems easy to make an app that just writes basic text with a few fonts, sizes and limited editing capabilities, you may think this is a washed out version of notepad.

This is exactly the opposite because instead of trying to pack a bunch of features in, and include thousands of addons and so-on and so-forth, they actually get to the roots of the problem -- taking a stressful task and making it seem effortless.

You can try out their Beta V2 here and find out more info about OmmWriter on their blog.

Video: In-Depth ands on with the Nexus One

Heads Up: There is a NSFW moment at the 1:45 mark. We're sorry we don't know why this guy played this in the demo (sort of ruins it). Anyways, we all new the Nexus one was an amazing phone and the UI was pretty slick, but when you see it in action in clear video, that's magic. This is a 10 min hands on with the Nexus one, and it is drop dead epic!

Apple tablet to be announced January 26 - Updated

One of the hottest topics of 2009 has been the Apple Tablet / iSlate / MacTouch or whatever you want to call it. Even though Apple has not moved their lips, nor acknowledged that this device even exists, there is apparently a release coming in January 2010 (very soon). That brings us to our next point to strengthen the rumor.

An insane robbery that could only happen at WalMart

It was a typical Monday at a Tennessee Wal-Mart that could possibly be the plot of an indie sci-fi/horror/action flick. Now we all would not expect some guy to walk casually past a greeter with $2000 worth of stolen electronics. But what happens next is truly effed up.

So an off duty police officer notices this guy and his wife trying to force their way past a greeter with "a cart full of TVs and a computer." The robber and his wife continue running past the cop and after the husband gets tackled to the ground, the wife has a severe heart attack with a case of amnesia (faking of course). A witness then spoke up and refuted the claim stating that the couple had been together in the store.

The wife is really angry now and still "recovering" so what does she do? She goes off to attack the witness in the parking lot, but the witness soon gained the upper hand after stabbing Hill in the arm with a pocket knife. The all get arrested, and WalMarts prices are still lower the next day.

The End. [AL.com, Gizmodo]
