Microsoft is rusting - Also, Steve Ballmer still doesn't get the iPad

Microsoft is slowly starting to become irrelevant in the personal mobile computing market, namely smartphones and tablets. Apple on the other hand became top dog in the tablet market literally in a few weeks, and the sad part is Steve Ballmer and Microsoft still “Dont get it”. If you don’t get why your competitors products are successful, how the hell are you going to stay relevant? If Microsoft doesn’t re-invent the way they look at consumer products, they’ll collapse in on themselves like a dying star.

Blackberry Blackballed in the Middle East

It looks like Canadian based RIM’s Blackberry Messenger application has come under fire from several governments in the Middle East because the lack of ability to monitor and control communications. Al-Jazeera is reporting that the United Arab Emirates has cast the first stone saying that it will block the popular messaging service starting in October with Saudi Arabia looking to ban it this month for one month.

Apple's Phone Antenna Comparisons Disappear

Now you might remember some phone comparisons on Apple’s antenna performance page a while back. Complete with diagrams and videos of competitor smartphones, they were Apple’s challenge to other companies about antenna issues. But if you were to happen to log onto the antenna page today, you would notice the content mentioned above is no where to be found. Apple has mysteriously pulled all of this content, leaving the antenna page to be all about Apple’s testing facilities. Strangely enough, all of those Youtube videos still remain on Apple’s channel.

EVO 4G Froyo Update: Taking One for The Team

Against HTC’s wishes and my circadium rhythm (biological clock that tells you when to sleep), I decided to update my EVO 4G to the unofficial OTA Froyo build that was in the wild yesterday. It was an adventure because this was my first manual update and lets just say, it was alot of smiles, cries and “Angry Nintendo Nerd” like fits that would’ve been comical to see on video. But alas, you’ll never see it. So let’s delve into some of my impressions early on and I’ll update this as I continue to test throughout the day so I can tell you what to expect.
