Okay Geek Show - Episode 5: We go to Russia!

On this installment of the Okay Geek Show, Ricardo is away at the 2011 Anime Expo spreading the joy of Okay Geek with his bros, so we have our resident social media geek and Contributing Editor, Connor on the show this time around. What’s interesting about this episode is that Connor had been in Russia for about a month and a half and he got back just in time to record the podcast, so there are many stories to tell about Russian McDonalds, roller-blades and sushi smoking — it’s a fantastic episode, so don’t miss it… listen now, or subscribe and save this one for later!

Brentalfloss works Star Fox into Bowie's Space Oddity -- (Video)

This isn’t a parody, but more of a tribute if you will; a clever adaptation of David Bowie’s Space Oddity, thrown together with Star Fox and his compadres, all done in a colorful puppet world. Overall, it makes for a wonderful rush of nostalgia and gaming bliss brought to you by the talents of Brentalfloss and Underbelly.

Disturbingly true facts told through motion graphic visualization

There are many videos that are created using pure 100% motion graphics and they’re great, but the only reason most of them exist is for the eye candy. Usually they are demonstrations of a designer’s talent, or an intro for a TV show or extra clips for a film — but motion graphic designer Patrick Clair decided to take a different approach and put his talent to the test. He makes videos that look at some of the most controversial topics in the business world, and turns them into beautiful motion graphic visualizations — but yet they are so entertaining to watch, and learn a bunch about some really disturbing true facts.

Valve releases Volume 2 of free "Songs to Test by" Portal 2 Soundtrack -- Download Now

There’s not a whole lot that can be said that hasn’t already been said in the countless positive reviews done in Portal 2’s honor. However, it’s for sure that without its glorious soundtrack GlaDOS, Wheatly, or even Cave Johnson wouldn’t have been able to steal the show as empahtically as they did. And so, once again, Valve wants to show their appreciation for the loyalty of the game’s fans by releasing Volume 2 of the game’s soundtrack for the low low price of free. — Details after the break!

New tour of the (almost complete) TWiT Studios - Video

Leo and the gang have been hard at work building a brand new studio for the TWiT network. It’s gigantic and is highly reminiscent of the old TechTV sets, so there will definitely be a nostalgia high when Leo debuts the new studio on the TWiT livestream Sunday July 24th 2011. Of course we are excited, but will we miss the old TWiT cottage too much?

This is the legal complaint WikiLeaks is throwing at Visa and MasterCard

Wikileaks is in every way one of the most influential organizations in the modern world. They have shaped many people’s opinions on government, business, human rights and the world around us — and they have had to fight every step of the way to get their message out clearly. Like all non-profit organizations, Wikileaks relies on donations from people close to the cause and the majority of those donations rely on very big companies like MasterCard and Visa.
