White PS3 Slim coming to Japan on July 29

Man, people just want everything in white don’t they? White iPhone 4 shortages, white 4G phones, and now a white PS3 Slim! While no US release date was mentioned, it was made known that this “classic white” colored console will only come in a 160 GB flavor while its “charcoal black” brother will get a 320 GB HDD option.
This comes right in time as Microsoft just recently released their new “Slim” Xbox 360 console with a built in 250GB hard HDD at a price tag of $299. The new White PS3 Slims however will be available only in Japan starting July 29th and they’ll be going for an asking price of $340 for the 160GB and $400 for the 320GB configuration.
At the moment there isn’t anything official on if the US will see these cleaner beasts, but I’m sure with all the demand there’s no way Sony would deny us the pleasure of owning a system as sexy as these puppies. And if they do plan on shipping these overseas ConceivableTech estimates we could get them as earlier as September, right in time for the Playstation Move/ Microsoft Kinect battle.
