Microsoft sued over MS Points system
Everyone who has owned an Xbox 360 console has usually had a complaint that sounded similar to this: "I don't want to buy $25 worth of Points for something that only costs me $15". Usually those point values end up with a strange amount in your account, leaving you helpless to use them for anything until you buy some more to fill your cache. It's this primary complaint that has prompted Philadelphia attorney Samuel Lassoff to file a class-action lawsuit against Microsoft claiming that Microsoft is engaging in a "scheme to unjustly enrich itself through their fraudulent handling" of Xbox Live Accounts.
"Microsoft breached that contract by collecting revenues for digital goods and services which were not provided." claims Lassoff, believing that Microsoft has overcharged him and countless other users of the Xbox Live Marketplace by seemingly setting up a system where point values are intentionally left over in odd amounts that can't be used without the purchase of more points.
Xbox Product Manager Aaron Greenberg has previously hinted of Microsoft contemplating the removal of MS Points as a currency all together, but it doesn't seem likely as the company has entrenched itself in all of its marketplaces with the dubious currency.
