PC - Hector: Badge of Carnage Episode 1 Review

Hector: Badge of Carnage released earlier this year as an Iphone exclusive title by Straandlooper Animation, and now Telltale has picked it up in order to publish it on a wider variety of platforms. It’s hit PC’s this week and radiates some great ideas, namely the art style and mature premise as well as some fairly good voice acting and dialogue. Though its gameplay isn’t always exciting, I also feel like the objectives aren’t always clearly laid out, which essentially breaks the flow of these games in an instant. If you can overcome these, then Hector is an enjoyable experience but it feels like it’s overshadowed by Telltale’s previous games. — Our review after the break!

Xbox 360 - Mortal Kombat Review

It’s been quite a while since we’ve seen a serious entry into the Mortal Kombat franchise. While Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe was a great game in it’s own way, it suffered from the lack of ridiculous fatalities and visuals as well as being on a 3D plane, which hampered the fighting in annoying ways. Billed as a reboot of the franchise, Mortal Kombat is back and it’s one of the best fighters out there, with it’s excellent gameplay, surprisingly excellent story and all of the gruesome, over the top fatalities you’ve come to expect from the series. — Our full review after the break!

Breaking: Sony has admitted to PSN breach, personal information may have been compromised

Finally, Sony has opened its mouth! SCEA’s Patrick Seybold has admitted that PSN accounts and any of your personal information on them, including credit cards, personal information, date of birth etc could have been compromised in this attack. Here’s an almost shocking quote from Seybold’s statement:While there is no evidence at this time that credit card data was taken, we cannot rule out the possibility. This probably isn’t the best day for Sony right now. —  Seybold’s full quote after the break!

PS3 / PC - Portal 2 Review

It isn’t a stretch to say that nearly ever serious gamer has heard of Portal. What started out as a student project has now become one of the most beloved games of this past decade, with its deviously simple puzzles being a favorite among its community. Thus with great joy we are happy to finally see Portal 2 come around and, as per usual, Valve has delivered another wonderful puzzler that is both fun, funny, and fantastic in every possible way. — Our review after the break!

Xbox Kinect - Dance Paradise Review

Dance Paradise was released to little to no attention, possibly due to how fierce the competition on the Kinect is — with Dance Central already providing most players with a great dance based experience. But what about the underdog? Dance Paradise proves itself to be a competent game, with an excellent choice of music, great use of the Xbox’s Avatars, along with full music videos. But after all that, the gameplay, while an interesting concept, ultimately falls short alongside some fairly bland visuals. — Our review after the break!

Portal 2's ARG may not be over!

Some interesting developments on the subject of Valve’s ARG for Portal 2. The unofficial Steamcast began transmitting Morse Code that, when translated, states that “it not over the others have been compromised.” Many people are thinking that, if it’s legitimate, we could be looking at another level of ARG goodness that could even lead to another game announcement! We shall see…

Potatopocalypse: Everything you need to know about Portal 2's ARG

Well, I’m sure you’ve all heard by now that Valve is offering to release Portal 2 early, if enough people “contribute their CPUs” to reactivate GLaDOS by playing any of the games offered in the Potato Pack on Steam. It’s been one hell of an effective marketing ploy by Valve, and they’re one of the only companies I know that can get the community to band together for a common goal, while sharing the profits, not just with themselves but with the indie community as well. Let’s take an in-depth look at Valve’s latest ARG!
