Chrome OS Netbook specs revealed - Multi-touch Included

According to IBTimes, the Google Chrome OS netbook will include an Nvidia Tegra platform with an ARM CPU. It may also have a 10.1" multi-touch screen that supports HD, come with a 64GB SSD, 2GB of RAM, and other standards like Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, a webcam, and so on. Obviously, this peppy little netbook will arrive running Chrome OS and come with a pre-installed suite of Google Apps.

Don't expect this netbook to be available any time soon. Hopefully (if the rumors hold up) it should be available by holiday season 2010 for a subsidized price of under $300, wow! People are saying it will be sold directly through Google's site, and they may partner with a network provider to sell it as a bundle with a 3G plan.

Yuck - the new 27-inch iMac is not working

Ok, I am going to say it, the new 27" iMac sucks, and a lot of people are thinking the exact same thing. Their giant screens are failing left and right, and they were shipping DOA last month. MG Siegler from TechCrunch has been noticing his new iMac is sucking pretty bad.

I’m back with the same constant flickering and random screen shutoffs that have plagued many of us. It basically makes the machine unusable.

MG Siegler

Apparently thousands of people are ranting and raving over at the Apple support forums and 99% of them are blazing mad. Earlier this month, it was reported that Apple was delaying further shipments of the 27-inch iMacs until it could get to the bottom of the screen issue. Lots of us thought that it would be the end of this, but unfortunately it was not. Lets hope the issue gets fixed soon, or Apple could loose its credibility of building "perfect" computers.

HP Face-tracking webcams don't like black people

Just when we thought technology was at its peak, and we were oh-so smart, we forget to make sure our facial tracking webcam recognize black people. How embarrassing.

HP has responded:

We are working with our partners to learn more. The technology we use is built on standard algorithms that measure the difference in intensity of contrast between the eyes and the upper cheek and nose. We believe that the camera might have difficulty "seeing" contrast in conditions where there is insufficient foreground lighting.

Leaked: Apple tablet caught on video finally

Now before this is marked to be "fake" or "edited with effects" ask yourself, would you picture the Apple Tablet any other way? It looks like it was made by Apple, and the interface looks very realistic in terms of "existing". This device has been vapor-ware ever since its unofficial announcement by bloggers everywhere, but this is the first see-to-believe evidence that the Apple tablet is alive in some shape or form, it's just not on our coffee tables yet. Read more about the tablet.

Cowboys Stadium 3D scoreboard experiment epically fails

We all have noticed that much of the television and movie industry is pushing more and more 3D content, but trying it at a football game? Last night at Cowboys Stadium they tried the vaunted real-time 3D scoreboard display experiment.

After only six minutes and fifty seconds of it being active it was turned off. The problem first was of course most attendees, some 80,000, didn't bother to put on the glasses, and second, many complained of headaches and nausea. Fans even went as far as booing the jumobotron.

The company who put on the event, HDlogix, has the technology to do glasses-free 3D, but sadly it doesn't work when you scale it to the world's largest HD screen monitor. Hopefully next time they decide to try this sort of thing they figure out a way to do the glasses-free version. But then again, does it really matter? You're at the game already and 3D can't get better than real life... can it?

Palm coming to CES 2010 - 'See and hear what's new'

Although this is not very exciting sounding (as Palm is yesterday's news) CES 2009 was their biggest year with the launch of WebOS and Pre, but does palm have enough will power to work up some hype? Well this may get your feet tingling, a Verizon partnership will probably be announced, along with some other... -- ok we are in the dark as much as you are. We might just have to sit tight until CES 2010.
