Pics: Border security kills a Macbook - with a handgun

Macbooks are not bulletproof, just putting that out there. Apperently some security guys knew that already, and unloaded on a Macbook. A young American woman travels over to Jerusalem to meet some friends, see the sights, live the life. Some border security officers, with an abusive commitment to their job, ask her a bunch of questions, and now she has a different looking Macbook. The young lady stuck in this predicament has been promised compensation, and most of her animals in farmville are dead.

More pics of the Macbook after the break.

Seagate Momentus thin - 160GB and 250GB - Shipping soon

This is a 7mm thick HDD that is going to make your SSD want to loose some weight. The Momentus Thin (yes that is the name) will make its very official unveiling at CES here in just a few weeks, where it'll be available in a fair 160GB and a hefty 250GB capacity and with 8MB of cache, a 5400RPM spin speed and a SATA 3Gbps interface. This is going to be the most useless piece of hardware for consumers because other than it is thin, it is slower, has less capacity and may be more vulnerable to damage. There is however a huge market that is growing and it is the ultra light category. Netbooks, Tiny desktops and thin laptops. All we can say is Apple will be all over this.

Google Phone - Nexus One - Specs, Features and details

White noise, confusion and Dogfooding has been happening on the internet for the past while about a smartphone called "Nexus One", or as we know it, the Google Phone. First off, most of us are thinking "wait, Google is and never will be a hardware company, and isn't every phone running Android considered to be a "Google Phone"? what makes this device different?". It only gets more foggy from here. It is apparently the brainchild of Google and HTC, which we think is the perfect match, but what exactly does this phone offer in terms of features, specs and originality? First we will start off with some background info of the Nexus One.

The "top secret" phone was given to most Google employees at an all-hands meeting on Friday, December 10th. Soon after, everyone found out about the Google phone when a number of Googlers tweeted about the phone, which was expected. Picture Gallery and Specs after the break...

Eldar Murtazin - Foxconn received order for next generation iPhone

Those crafty guys at Apple have done it again, they have made our phones obsolete, in record time! You have heard of Eldar Murtazin, right? Editor in chief of Mobile Review and the ultimate insider when it come to all things mobile he is a trustworthy source. Here is a little tweet done by him:

"Foxconn received order for next generation iphone"

So we should give him more credit that a random blogger, and trust that actually Foxconn has recieved an order for iPhone guts. Besides, if Apple's going to keep up the mid-year iPhone refresh cycle then the timing's just about right, eh?

Apple Tablet Confirmed by Oppenheimer - Launch in April

There has been a hurricane of rumors, leaks, supposed release dates and specs. The Apple tablet has been Vapour-ware since it was first announced, but we now have another (huge) peice of the pie to solve this mystery (thanks to Kevin Rose on Twitter :D). A company called Oppenheimer has just released a document depicting the details we have been dying for. They have uncovered several tidbits about Apple's forthcoming tablet.

First, it appears Apple will begin ramping production in February, implying that the tablet could launch in late March or April (barring production hiccups). Their checks also suggest that the iPad's display will be a 10.1" LTPS based LCD screen, not an OLED display as other rumors have suggested.

Full documentation after the break.

iHandstick turns you iPhone or iPod touch into the ultimate gaming device

The iPod touch and iPhone have been (ever since the app store) one of the first thoughts that pops into peoples head when they want to play games. It is powerful, it has a big screen and there is like a bazillion apps to choose from. The sad part is, its about as ergonomic as a handful of nails. The iHandstick might just do the job -- this hollow cousin of the Playstation controller may satisfy owners of iPod touch 2G / 3G and iPhone 3G / 3GS. $16.99 plus shipping and it's all yours.

Unconfirmed: Intel's Core i3 530 processor up for order

Remember when the Core i7 came out, it was all the rage, but expensive. Then they came out with the budget quadcore proccessor, the Core i5, which is just as good (minus some hyperthreading technologies) for a hundred bucks less. Now Intel is set off to make a newer, lower cost, high performance CPU to raise the standards of mobile, and personal use. More after the break
