How to: Shift + Select in the Finder on OS X Lion

So I made the plunge and bought an iMac after I recently tied the knot. Think of it as starting anew both in real life and in my digital one. And while I was happy setting up the brain child of Steve Jobs, I soon discovered that my world had been turned upside down. After more than a decade of exclusively being tied to Windows machines, here I was having to learn the basics of keyboard shortcuts all over again. And one that that really go on my nerves was wondering just how the heck does one “shift-select” on a Mac, for instance when wanting to select a groupf of photos to edit at one time without manually clicking on each one? The solution was a strange one. — More after the break!

Coding points to iMessage and iChat becoming one in the same

So here’s what happened; Someone found a couple lines of coding within OS X Lion’s iChat that point to some interesting developments that might integrate the desktop IM service with the upcoming iOS iMessage (SMS replacement) app. The idea isn’t as farfetched as it seems, since Apple is trying its best, and not always successfully, into simplifying and unifying its services. — More after the break!

Apple Sales Roar Past Q3 Estimates with $28.57 Billion in Revenue

With a gross margin of 41.7%, better then what analysts and the company had predicted, Q3 has been a very successful quarter for Apple. Q3’s net profit was a staggering $7.31B, and even though the iPhone is close to a refresh, Apple sold 20.34M iPhones which is 14% more then last year. Apple also sold 9.25M iPads this quarter, bringing iPad sales up 183% compared to last year and lastly Apple sold 3.95 million Macs during the quarter, bringing sales up 14% compared to third quarter last year. Impressive, but Mac sales really seem small.

Itsy Mac app for Twitter is simplicity at its finest

After weeks of using the official Twitter app for Mac, it occoured to me that I was spending way too much time messing around in the App, rather than actually tweeting. I was flipping through useless searches, and droning through trending topics like I had no other reason to exsist — and even though the Twitter app for Mac is fantastic (probably still the best), I wanted something more… or in this case, less.
