Sticky notes appear all over Apple Store in Canada, thanking Steve Jobs

It was yesterday that we lost a visionary. Steve Jobs passed away and the news left the tech world shaken, and the people who look up to him, saddened. Nothing could have prepared us for this news.

It was around 1pm today that I recieved an email from my Dad telling me he had snapped a photo of the Apple store in Square One Mall, Mississauga, where people had placed sticky notes all over the glass front. It sort of just happened, and we wouldn’t be surprised if sticky notes popped up on every Apple store front, all over the world. View the full photo here!

Breaking - Apple announces Steve Jobs has passed away

Earlier today news broke throughout the various blogs and social networks that Apple’s long time CEO, Steve Jobs had passed away due to his contuining health problems. Since then, it’s been confirmed by Apple that Jobs did in fact pass this morning surrounded by family and friends. Here at Okay Geek we’ve had a love/hate relationship with the man. His creations were the innovations of genius design and engineering, but his personal life and the way he ran Apple were of considerable question. Rather then summarize his life’s accomplishment and legacy, since his products that we use on a day to day basis are a testament enough to that, we’re going to simply post a number of videos of how he introduced these game-changers to the world, as well as what his colleagues and long time rivals say to the news of Steve Jobs’ death. — More after the break!

Synchronized walking is a sport and it's memorizing to watch - (Video)

Synchornized swimming has long been a sport that people watch just to see the grace and skill its participants are capable of that we can’t come close to. But walking, we’re all relatively good at that, right? Well, these guys make even walking look like something out of your reach.

New Pokemon Center opening in Japan to lend relief for earthquake victims

When disasters happen sometimes it takes something as simple as a recognizable video game or cartoon character to help kids cope with even the toughest of situations. Pokemon in Japan is a staple that’s become the new Mickey Mouse for thousands, if not millions, and so just getting a chance to take a photo alongside Pikachu may be enough to give kids that boost to look forward to tomorrow. That being said, Nintendo plans to open yet another Pokemon Center (its 7th in the country) as a means to take one more step towards normals. — More after the break!

Anderson Cooper knocked off his composure by poop joke - (Video)

As only the legendary Stephen Colbert can report, Anderson Cooper is a fraud. While seemingly keeping a poker face during the most harshest of times and scenarios — even getting punched repeatedly while in Egypt — it appears our invincible anchorman does have a weakness: potty jokes.

Life and technology in the year 2050 - Infographic

People have predicted the future before (hell, they said we’d have flying cars by now) and failed, or missed the ball entirely — but this time ‘round, it’s a short look 50 years into the future where people are a little less confident. Technology’s advancements, energy use, medicine and more. Sure this infographic may never come true, but it’s always interesting to get a taste of life might be like in 50 years.

ISPs screwing you over, AT&T throttling, Fox restricts streaming, cats and dogs sleeping together

It seems as if overnight a bunch of companies launched plans to screw you over, namely the big ones. ISPs, content providers and mobile carriers have decided to restrict access and jack up prices — basically the same bull crap that has happened ever since the day money became an object. The thing that’s different this time is that three major upstirs have happened almost on the same day, and we feel it’s only fair you know about them.
