E3 2011 -- Halo 4 is official, released Holiday 2012, part of new trilogy

Master Chief was wrecked on a floating ship off somewhere in the middle of God-forsaken space the last time we checked on him. But even with him so far away from the planet he once called home, it seems he’s needed once again. Spartan 117 has been awoken by Cortana and is ready to do it all over again, though I’m not sure why they call it Halo considering all of them were blown up… right?
Halo 4 / Winter 2012
Halo 4 was briefly teased at the end of Microsoft’s briefing with a pretty stylish cinematic trailer, much in the vein those ads for Halo 3 were done years ago. No gameplay was shown, but the game is due to be released Holiday of 2012 and interestingly enough, will be the first part of a new trilogy saga for Master Chief. He’s going to need a weapon.
