Done by the creative minds over at Collective Visual, this video highlights not the games or the announcements of the biggest video game trade show of the year. Oh no, but rather it takes a better look into the individuals who make the trip and walk the showfloor and beg the question: “What does E3 mean to you?”
E3 is the spectacle of the gaming world year in and year out, but it doesn’t always go off without a hitch. At the end of each year there’s bound to be some sort of meme or inside joke within those who saw the conferences that inevitably make the event that much more memorable — no matter how awkward it they are to watch at time.
We have been underground bashing our keyboards and inhaling coffee for the past two weeks covering E3 2011 which has been a blast, but a lot of hard work. We haven’t released a show in a while, so we only thought it was fair to present an E3 2011 special (we talk about Apple stuff near the end) full of analysis of everything that happened, and a breakdown of everything that was released… also, OnLive is awesome.
Although the press conferences at could’ve used some work, the new games and hardware announced at E3 were really the talk of the show. Nintendo’s Wii U and Sony’s PS Vita were some of the debut hardware, whike Tomb Raider, Super Mario 3DS, Battlefield 3, MW3, Streetfighter X Tekken, and Halo 4 were some of the top titles showcased. There is so much more that happened, so let’s take some time and look at the best of E3 2011! — Catch it all after the break!
So much stuff happens at E3 that a lot of it slips under the radar, and one of those things is a brilliant idea by Aaron Orcino, creative media extraordinaire. He had the unique (and weird) idea of “Planking” everywhere at E3 2011, and then upload the photos to his blog (there’s about 40 of them). Now you may be asking, what is planking?
“Don’t ask where I got this, and don’t ask for a source,” is how one member on Bungie.net’s forum started out his post concerning the possible leakage of critical plot details for Halo 4. According to Shadow 13th, who supposedly received information from someone who undiscreetly broke an embargo about Bungie’s supposed Halo Anniversary August celebration, a “new dark threat” is about to plague the universe, and it’s about to noneother than Master Chief himself to uncover the mysteries of the Forerunner planet Sigma 7. — Details after the break!
