Geohot goes from being sued by Sony to working at Facebook -- go figure
When your name gets out there for being the first to release iPhone jailbreak methods, as well as getting in hot water for doing the same to locked down PS3’s then being sued by Sony themselves, you start to get noticed by bigger fish. Geohot, a hacker in the tech and gaming world that won’t soon be forgotten, has apparently landed himself a pretty sweet gig at one of the most prestigious companys anyone could ever dream of working for: Facebook.
While news has recently broken of George “Geohot” Hotz’ new place of employment it seems that this isn’t something new at all. And that the hacker, now internet celebrity, has been working with the Social Network since May, and also has a very big connection with another name brand you might be familiar with — Google — seen in his “Networks” section on his FB profile.
He sure has been busy since “running from the law” earlier this year when Sony was after his tail for releasing vital information that might’ve torn down the entire system in which the PS3 was founded on. It should be noted that to this day people still think that the Geohot case was the main reason why anonymous hackers ran-sacked PSN and took it down for nearly a whole month, leaving gamers wondering when they would ever get back to playing COD online again.
If there’s anything that we can take from the modern age of internet hackery it’s that if you break the law enough times you start to get noticed for it and then get a high-paying job for your efforts. Geohot has certainly left his mark.
