Kidrobot South Park Mini Series and Mini Dead Kenny review

Kidrobot has been manufacturing Simpsons and Family Guy toys for a while now but recently they announced a partnership with Comedy Central for a series of special South Park figurines. Our good friends from Kidrobot sent us a couple of South Park Mini Series 3 inch toys and a Mini Dead Kenny as well.

Box o’ South Park via Kidrobot

South Park Mini

Let’s start with the South Park Mini Series. Here’s what you might get in each blind box followed by each one’s likelihood - Stan (2/20), Kyle (2/20), Cartman (2/20), Kenny (2/20), Butters (2/20), Chef (2/20), Mr. Garrison (2/20), Mr. Slave (2/20), Officer Barbrady (1/20), Mr. Macket (1/20), Towelie (1/40), Randy (3/80), Professor Chaos (?/??), mystery character (?/??).

Each figurine comes in a colorfully designed cardboard box with sketches of the main characters on each side. The top of the box is marked kidrobot x South Park collectible art while a tiny silver Kidrobot seal secures the packaging. The bottom of the box reads “Designed with Love” and “for ages 17 and up.”

Inside the box is your typical silver foil wrapping the toy. Tear that open and you’ll find your randomized South Park character along with an accessory and a square character card. We got Stan and Kyle, which comes with a dog and Ike Broflovski (respectively). You can see each character’s “accessory” on the product page.

Each vinyl figure stands 3 inches tall and is covered in a nice matte coating of vibrant paint. The head and arms can swivel; details and facial features are intricately marked. The figures can stand pretty well given their large circular feet. Overall, the toys are pretty high quality aside from some minor paint imperfections which don’t really detract from the overall look.

Dead Kenny

Oh my God, they killed Kenny! …You bastards! Moving on to the Dead Kenny figure. Why is Kenny dead? Well, if you watch South Park, you’ll know that Kenny’s repeated death has become a sort of running joke at this point. Kenny McCormick dies in some gruesome fashion and Stan yells “Oh my God, they killed Kenny!” followed by Kyle’s “You bastards!” Rather interesting how the other figures we received happened to be Stan and Kyle.

The actual Dead Kenny figure is pretty cool. When we poured it out of the foil wrapper, we though a piece had broken off but it turns out Kenny’s little hand is meant to be detached. Every detail of the figure is true to the tragic deaths of Kenny in the TV show. The vinyl is specially marked up with dents and scratches. A chunk has been taken out of the side of Kenny’s head revealing his purple brain. The left arm has been torn off revealing a tiny bone and even his ribs are sticking out. The drawstrings on his signature orange jumpsuit are made of actual string.

Where to buy

Kidrobot (South Park Mini Series) — MSRP: $9.95

Kidrobot (Mini Dead Kenny) — MSRP: $10.95
