Nintendo: "We won't be publishing Pandora's Tower, The Last Story, or Xenoblade in NA"

Well, so much for that — After a well engineered movement created by fans called Operation Rainfall, which was designed to bug Nintendo to the point of having to localize Japanese games Pandora’s Tower, The Last Story, and Xenoblade in North America, Nintendo has shot down any immediate possibilties of that happening in the near future. After thanking the fans for their support of the three titles they kindly replied with a affirmative “no”.

Let’s face it, the Wii’s line up has been running pretty thin as of late, with Donkey Kong Country Returns being the last real “core” game to hit the console. And that was released back in November of last year! So what else is there for gamers whose systems have been collecting dust this whole time? Pray and hope that Nintendo would be bringing over some life-sustaing titles from Japan, but alas after a genuine push from fans to demand the likes of Pandora’s Tower and Xenoblade, Nintendo has come back with a statment through both their Facebook and Twitter accounts:

Facebook

“Thank you for your enthusiasm. We promised an update, so here it is. We never say “never,” but we can confirm that there are no plans to bring these three games to the Americas at this time. Thanks so much for your passion, and for being such great fans!”

Twitter

Thanks for being such incredible fans! Unfortunately, there continues to be no plans for NOA to release these 3 games right now.

While that doesn’t leave the door shut entirely, seeing as PR always say stuff like this just so they don’t have to give a real answer, this is a big blow for Wii owners hoping that Nintendo wouldn’t neglect those who slapped down the cash to buy a Wii in the first place.”

Until the time comes when we actually sit down and play Xenoblade or Pandora’s Tower without having to import them, we’re going to simply have to stare at what could’ve been.
