Nintendo Wii U Demo Games Were Actually From the PS3 and Xbox 360
With the announcement of Nintendo’s latest gaming console, the Nintendo Wii U, company big wig Reggie Fils-Amie told website GameTrailers in an interview that the reel of demo games shown off during Nintendo’s press conference were not that of Wii U gameplay. Instead, when asked whether the footage came from PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, Reggie stated, “absolutely, because we’re talking a year away from when the console will launch.”
I can understand why they may have chosen to use footage from competitor consoles, in essence it informs consumers of the Wii U’s capability in contrast to already available consoles. However, the fact that this was kept quiet during the press conference completely destroys that theory.
Nevertheless, continuing with Reggie Fils-Amie’s interview, the man told GameTrailers that the Wii U will be “as good” as Microsoft and Sony’s products. Sadly though, it would appear as though the interview shifted pace to highlight the Wii U’s 1080p capability — and to be honest, that isn’t really an impressive feature in this day and age.
