Official Twitter App for Mac to debut tomorrow
Not long ago Twitter acquired the “Tweetie” app for iPhone and iPod Touch, but it ended up collecting nothing but dust as it was taken out of the App Store. However, just after this acquisition, the official Twitter app for iPhone and iPod Touch was released, taking the same shape and form as Tweetie. Well, now it’s making its way to Apple as a desktop client.
Rumors of Tweetie 2 have been thrown around, but there’s yet has to be any clear signs of a resurrection. That is of course, until tomorrow when the official Mac App Store launches, in which Twitter is to released as an official app for Mac. And ever since Twitter acquired Tweetie maker “Atebits” the client could possibly be a revamped version of the original Tweetie, and could mean a repeatance of what occured months ago at the iOS App Store. It is also expected that it comes with a drag and drop feature, native retweet support, and realtime tweet flow.
All that is left is to wait for tomorrow, and see for ourselves what’s new. And as with most Apple applications, with the release of a simple, working application, this could mean a possible death for all other third party Twitter desktop clients.
