Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 sports 12 new fighters, set for November release

Less than a year since its initial release, MvC3 is getting another iteration in usual Capcom fashion. Where Street Fighter IV has gotten 2 new versions with Arcade Edition being the most recent, MvC3 hasn’t even properly aged to a single year old before Capcom has decided to add 12 new characters to its roster as well as a “refined” fighting system and additional online features.

Along with a re-balanced fighting system MvC3 will also sport a spectators mode for online combantants to watch other fights happening across the world in real-time. As of today Capcom revealed only a handful of characters today but the full cast has already been leaked:

Marvel

  • Ghost Rider
  • Dr Strange
  • Nova (Who?)
  • Rocket Raccoon (Umm, this guy is actually awesome)
  • Hawkeye
  • Iron Fist

Capcom

  • Strider
  • Firebrand (This space was stolen from Mega Man X or Sigma’s reserved space)
  • Vergil
  • Frank West (Does anyone actually like this guy)?
  • Phoenix Wright
  • Nemesis

Officially there doesn’t seem to be any talk of there being a DLC version of the game for pre-existing owners, which is quite the pull under the rug move seeing as the game isn’t even 6 months old as of today.

Current launch date is sometime in November for a cool $39.99, though people like me who adopted the original version should be looking to cash in on the original so they don’t lose any capital on the “Ultimate” MvC experience.
