Couple sells kid for cell phone. Yes, you read that right.

How much is a new cell phone worth to you? Would you give up food for a week? Or how about sell your tv or car? One couple felt that a shiny new phone was worth the value of their new born child. I seriously couldn't believe it when I first heard the story, but sure enough it was real.

A Chinese girl (19) and her boyfriend (21) felt they weren't up to the whole "parenting thing" after giving birth to their new born baby back in late November. Their reasons? They said they just couldn't afford it, so selling it seemed to the most viable option. So after finding a buyer and getting 2,500 yuans ($360 US) for their kid the first thing they went out and did with the cash was upgrade to a new mobile device. Prioritize much?

I'm still trying to figure out what kind of phone it must've been. I mean I know it had to have been something out of this world for them give up their kid. Heck, it's got to have at least done email, internet, and had wifi connectivity, right? I mean their baby couldn't do any of that stuff, so I could see the trade off.

But seriously how messed up and immature do you have to be to do something so stupid? The couple eventually felt bad for what they did and are trying to get their baby back, if that makes any of you feel better, though, I wonder if they had to return the cell phone?

HTC Nexus One approved by the FCC

A new device called "NEXUSONE" has been blessed by the FCC. For those of you who are not familiar with this device, it is in fact the speculated "Google Phone" which the internet has been talking about for the past while. This new device has just slipped through the FCC as model number PB99100 built by HTC. The filing also confirms a few more details including microSD expansion, 802.11b/g WiFi, and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR. But the real news comes from looking at the radios: quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE with UMTS/HSUPA.

Seagate Momentus thin - 160GB and 250GB - Shipping soon

This is a 7mm thick HDD that is going to make your SSD want to loose some weight. The Momentus Thin (yes that is the name) will make its very official unveiling at CES here in just a few weeks, where it'll be available in a fair 160GB and a hefty 250GB capacity and with 8MB of cache, a 5400RPM spin speed and a SATA 3Gbps interface. This is going to be the most useless piece of hardware for consumers because other than it is thin, it is slower, has less capacity and may be more vulnerable to damage. There is however a huge market that is growing and it is the ultra light category. Netbooks, Tiny desktops and thin laptops. All we can say is Apple will be all over this.

Google Phone - Nexus One - Specs, Features and details

White noise, confusion and Dogfooding has been happening on the internet for the past while about a smartphone called "Nexus One", or as we know it, the Google Phone. First off, most of us are thinking "wait, Google is and never will be a hardware company, and isn't every phone running Android considered to be a "Google Phone"? what makes this device different?". It only gets more foggy from here. It is apparently the brainchild of Google and HTC, which we think is the perfect match, but what exactly does this phone offer in terms of features, specs and originality? First we will start off with some background info of the Nexus One.

The "top secret" phone was given to most Google employees at an all-hands meeting on Friday, December 10th. Soon after, everyone found out about the Google phone when a number of Googlers tweeted about the phone, which was expected. Picture Gallery and Specs after the break...
