HTC's latest handset burns as passionately as a wildfire

Looks like tonight’s been privy to HTC’s latest handset line-up. During a German press conference the — then — unannounced HTC Wildfire was accidentally set loose for the ensuing media. The newest touchscreen candybar brings nothing special to the table, but is surprisingly packed to the brim with quadband GSM and UMTS/HSDPA radios (pitched at 900/2100MHz). Specification wise its running Android 2.1 with HTC Sense, a Qualcomm MSM7225 CPU clocked in at 525MHz, a 3.2-inch QVGA touchscreen, 5-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash, WiFi (802.11b/g), Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, 512MB of Flash memory and 348MB of RAM. It’s due to hit Europe and Asia sometime in Q3, but in the meantime how about checking out HTC’s press release and Engadget’s hands-on after the break?

Is Sony Planning to Reveal a Premium PSN Service at E3?

Now here’s some interesting news; VG247 is reporting that Sony is planning to reveal a premium PSN service at E3. Now hold on! Before you get all up in arms about this, VG247’s source is claiming that “nothing planned will impact the service’s current free aspects.”

What it will do, apparently, is give paying subscribers access to one free PSN game per month, from a choice of “two to four” every month. The source also claims that something similar to Spotify will be announced for subscribers to use as well as a stating that the cross-game voice chat will not be a feature you need to pay for.

Don’t forget that this is a pretty big rumor at this point but stay tuned for any more developments on this story!

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep gets English trailer and Release dates

I won’t bore you with any talk. Let’s get down to the info:

North America Release is Sept. 7th, 2010
UK release date is Sept. 11th, 2010

Oh yeah, did I mention that Leonard Nimoy (Spock of Star Trek fame) will be voicing the main antagonist, Master Xehanort?! This is pretty epic, but expected, considering they had Christopher Lee play DiZ last time around.

Leaked Windows Phone 7 ROM hints at the HTC Mondrian and its 1.3GHz Snapdragon

As with most ROM leaks it’s to be expected that the guys from XDA-Developers are front and center ready to rub, scrub and dry it of all (or any) pertinent information. In true XDA style the image featured above was extracted from the “oemavatar.cab” file; now it could be nothing more than a generic render (which if so is kind of disappointing) or it could be the elusive HTC Mondrian (as referenced in the 100MB ROM). As the flock of XDA-Developers delved deeper, they happened to stumble upon more pieces to this already perplexing puzzle. According to the information extracted, the HTC Mondrian could be packing a 4.3-inch WVGA (480x800) display and a 1.3GHz QSD8650A/B Qualcomm Snapdragon. Which if true, will quite possibly make the Droid Incredible and EVO 4G (or any other handset on the market for that matter) redundant sooner rather than later.
