The Best (and Worst) Tech Commercials Ever

Commercials are one of the major ways tech companies spread the word - I mean, not just on TV, but digging down to where their customers live, the interwebs. I mean if a tech company knows their market they know that everyone is on the internet all the time, and everything they create and consume lives there. Like any company, tech companies want to simply entice consumers to buy their product - some succeed, and some fail miserably.

All the commercials after the break!

Valve begins the "Perils of Summer" Sale on Steam

Valve begins the "Perils of Summer" Sale on Steam

Starting today and running all the way until July 4th, you get some ridiculous sales on tons of games like all the Square Enix and Eidos games for $100 to 75 percent off of 2Ks entire lineup! Along with that, each day will have a large price reduction on one game and according to the website, “It will go as low as 90 Percent!” Currently, that game is Trine, which is now at the excellent price of $4.00, but expect it to change soon, so buy that excellent game while you still can!

Sounds awesome, you can check out all the sales each day on the Steam website!

Android Froyo Source Code is Served!

According to the good folks at Android Developers - the official source code for Android 2.2 has been released. What does this mean for us, the user. Nothing right now. However, if you are a developer, hobbyist, home brewer or an all around ROM cooker, today is your day. Granted, if you possess a Nexus One, chances are you are going to get the update first. And if you’re a sense you (EVO 4G users, that’s us), then you’re probably going to get an official update later this year. Now all that’s left is for the developer community to serve up this frozen treat with all kinds of confections. I’ll take mine sprinkles!

Motorola DROID X coming to Verizon on July 15 for $199

Look, not everyone is foaming at the mouth for iPhone 4; some people actually care about other smartphones on the market, like for instance Motorola’s Droid X, which is now officially coming to Verizon on July 15 at a competitive price of $199.

Armed with its massive 4.3 inch screen, 1 GHz TI OMAP3630 processor, and 8 megapixel camera (located on an oddly shaped bump on the rear of the phone), this is definitely Motorola’s answer to the popular HTC EVO 4G.

Another surprising feature about the phone is that it comes with 8 GB of built in storage and as if that weren’t enough, a 16 GB micro SD card is included in the box.

So if you’re aren’t the kind watching and waiting for every single new feature, review, and unboxing of the new iPhone whatever, then why not look into Droid X? For more details, check out the press release.
