Funny Comic - Antivirus Software Hates You

The funny thing about antivirus is that it tries to protect you against viruses and spam, but most of the time it ends up spamming you itself. There’s nothing more annoying than opening up your laptop and seeing “Scan in progress” in your task bar, slowing down everything to a halt. There’s also those lovely un-announced updates that require a restart, and the constant nagging to upgrade to the “Pro” version. It protects us, but it’s such a pain in the ass.

Apple Press Conference Video is up - Along with more goodies

Apple is letting it all out, and showing us why they weren’t wrong. We we’re holding it wrong the whole time apparently — and not only do we hold the iPhone 4 wrong, we hold every other phone wrong as well. That aside, Apple has set out to make everything all better again by giving us all free iPhone cases, refunding our bumper purchases and telling us that “it was blown out of proportion”. All seems better for now - those links are after the break!

White iPhone 4 Shipping at End of July

The previously announced “mid-July” ship date of the white iPhone 4 has now been changed to a “end of July” at today’s Apple press conference. Word from Steve,”White iPhone, we’re going to start shipping at the end of the month.” We still don’t know what took them so long, and why it was so difficult to manufacture, but its finally coming and we can rest at ease.

Steve Jobs: "iPhone 4 drops more calls per 100 than the 3GS"

Steve Jobs: "iPhone 4 drops more calls per 100 than the 3GS"

But how many more calls? — “This is hard data… the iPhone 4 drops less than one additional call per 100 than the 3GS. Less than one.” — Those are the words of Steve Jobs himself, and that seems to be a pretty good number, but will it improve with all the free cases their giving away?

0.55% of iPhone 4 customers phoned Apple about reception issues

0.55% of iPhone 4 customers phoned Apple about reception issues

This could be misleading, but Steve Jobs said this himself today at the iPhone 4 press conference — “So what percentage have called AppleCare? 0.55% Just one half of one percent.” — He also mentioned that iPhone 4 has a return rate of 1.7% which is lower than the previous iPhone 3GS 6% customer return rate. Take this with a grain of salt…
