This robot draws creepy portraits with a pen - Video

At first I thought this would be a “robotic” piece of software that drew a portrait in photoshop or something, but I was very wrong. This could be one of the coolest, yet creepiest things I have ever seen, and reminded me a lot of that scene in iRobot where Will Smith draws the bridge. This cool, but it’s still another sign of the inevitable robot apocalypse…

Alternative takes on iOS 5 Notification Center

Apple announced iOS 5 a few weeks ago, and the excitement is already building to a peak, but the word is that it won’t be released until the fall, so there’s also an undertone of disappointment attached to the good news. One of the major announcements for iOS 5 was Notification Center, which is a very Android style notification dashboard that shades the screen as you slide your finger down. It displays info like weather, missed calls, emails, texts and stocks and although it looks great, many designers are already all over it, creating their own take on the new Notification Center.

Sony not threatened at all by Wii U and it will not affect PS4 plans

I think Michael Pachter said it best, that the Wii U was announced too late and with a goofy name. By only just now releasing a real “next-gen” console, with 1080p, an viable online platform, and AAA titles, Nintendo is only barely catching up to a hardcore gaming business that’s been going strong for the past few years now, with games like Uncharted, Gears of War, and Call of Duty leading the way. That being said, local Sony president of SCEA, Jack Tretton doesn’t feel threatened in the least. — More after the break!

Nokia's N9's MeeGo looks really compelling - Video

With iPhone, Windows Phone, Blackberry and Android butting heads, fighting for their piece of mindshare in the mobile space, Nokia has been in the background. Nokia hasn’t been on the forefront of cool smartphones in a long while, but they plan to make a comeback soon with this new version of MeeGo and the N9. Looking really nice…

Reggie: "The 3DS' two main problems have been solved"

It’s hard to argue that the 3DS is an impressive machine, the only issue comes down to proving it. With a lack of first-party titles, or even overwhelming third-party support, and a lackluster eShop catalog, the 3DS isn’t anywhere the handheld machine longtime fans were clamouring for. Reggie now says those concerns have been resolved. — Details after the break!

Google's site has been un-officially redesigned

The Google homepage has been essentially the same since day one — blue underlined links, white background, the famous multi-color logo (inspired by Lego) and the occasional Google doodle. The Google homepage and search page have undergone many tweaks and enhancements, but it has never strayed from what it has always been… simple.

When you don’t have a router handy, and you’re stuck with an iPad that’s WiFi only, or you just don’t want to chew through your dataplan on a Smartphone, you can’t really get very far.
