6 minute prologue to Dark Knight Rises will air before IMAX screenings of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol
It’s pretty safe to say that Dark Knight Rises is the most anticipated film of 2012 by far. It’s predecessor became the third most grossing box office smash, third only to Titanic and Avatar — both creations of James Cameron. This next installment is sure to be one to watch for, and especially due to its interesting choice in its cast and villains (Catwoman and Bane primarily). We’re strapped for any new information we can get our hands on, and thankfully we’ll soon see our first real look at what the finale in the Batman Begins trilogy holds.
AMC Theaters has confirmed (and then removed) information that they will be showing a 6 minute long prologue to Dark Knight Rises at all 70mm IMAX screens screening Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol — which is scheduled for release December. 21st.
This plays exactly as events did 3 years ago when Dark Knight’s bank heist scene was screened along IMAX showings of I Am Legend.
What will be shown is up to anyone’s guess, but it will undoubtedly leave its audience demanding more. We’ve seen and heard reports of Joseph Gordon Levitt possibly playing Robin, Batman piloting the Batwing, and Bruce Wayne hobbling along on a cane (perhaps after encountering Bane).
Rises seems to be shaping up to be the greatest in the Batman film lore. July 20th, 2012 cannot come soon enough!
