Recently a group of friends and I decided to sit down and think of what the best video game idea ever would be and we came to the idea of Pokemon as a MMORPG (Massivly Multie Player Online Role Playing Game) like World of Warcraft.
So if you look into it their is a game called Pokemon World Online but it's exactly like the normal games and doesn't have that cool realistic or epic concept like W.O.W. So we though what if the game is Pokemon but like W.O.W. where you can travel around the world, catch pokemon, train them, join team rocket, be a breeder, or what ever you wouldn't normal do. Pokemon was one of the biggest sensation in America in the late 90's and early 2000's.
Imagine calling you friends and saying hey dude lets hop of Pokemon and try and defeat the 3 legendary pokemon with some friends, or taking on Mew and REALLY having to try or team up.
Just a concept but comments about this? Who has the ability to propose this to nintendo?
Striking at all of the right chords, the film's main focus - which seems to be the only original one - relies heavily on sound and atmosphere throughout the film. A refreshing aspect of Paranormal Activity lies in its minimal amount of special effects. With an exemplary use of sound, the film works on the nerves of the viewer by repeatedly assaulting them with a brilliant balance of silence, soundscape and subtle visual effects.
Furthermore, throughout Paranormal Activity what stands out is the lack of CGI-dependent special effects. The greater portion of special effects are conventional types of the film school variety. The better portion of special effects are of a psychological nature.
As most of the demonic domestic violence in the film is located in the bedroom of the sleeping couple, this makes the film stand out as a supernatural thriller because of the element of psychological framework. In one interview, director Oren Peli says, "I think a lot of people can relate to the question of what happens at night when you're most vulnerable." Peli's statement becomes evident after each night of relentless demonic terrorism that's inflicted upon the suburban homeowners in Paranormal Activity.
The movie also is big because it's original way of being distributed through the U.S. by use of Demand.com to try and get the film to play in your area.
The movie isn't very different from other films in how scary it is, but their is something that makes it truly terrifying. The reason you will have nightmares is because you believe that something like this could happen. The movie being shot with a single camera brings belief and makes you afraid that this seems so real.
I myself as well as other felt like we were "seeing things" as we were in our cars or entering our homes. It's of course all psychological but still you mind can play crazy tricks. And don't think i'm just another scared person who hates scary movies. I hate scary movies because they aren't REALLY scary, but this one will amaze.
I HIGHLY recommend to anyone but beware, you almost WILL have nightmares.
So with the recent release of Snow Leopard for Mac came an updated Quicktime called Quicktime X. But what's the new features?
Big features include new cleaner look, visual chapters, easier to share videos across multiple platforms, quick capture, easy trimming like the iphone, and the best is simple way for you to record your screen for use in tutorials in special programs.
As cool as all these features are many professionals are mad about the downgrade it has for converting video. Quicktime Pro was about to transcode into many helpful formats for video editors but good news, we still keep Quicktime Pro!
Basically Quicktime X is a polished version for the average consumer and still gives you the clean look apple is known for. Check it out especially if you are in to doing tutorials in FCP, After Effects, or what ever else.
Wal-Mart is cutting back on DVD and Blu-ray display area.
Is this the end to buying movie in stores? Has the time finally come where people realize it's smarter to buy a movie on iTunes so you can transfer to every type of electronic you own?
According to Engadget.com more people are now renting from Itunes, Netflix, and Redbox. Most people just rent movies from these very convenient sites and just copy the movie so they always have it. Of course this is completely illegal but whose regulating and how are they going to stop it?
One day you won't even have DVD's or CD's, or they will be come so rare that they are collectors items. The digital age has come and it's not stopping anytime soon. Being able to watch any movie, anytime, just by the click of the button will soon be.
The newest release of the Kingdom Hearts franchise was release last week and so far the reviews are positive. This is the second game of the series to be on the Nintendo ds. The previous game didn't do so well mainly because of the poorly designed new battling system unlike their orginal real time combat.
The new game fortunately has everything you would want from a PS2 or PS3 version, all packed into a DS. The game tells the side story of Roxas who we met in Kingdom Hearts 2.
I went out and bought it myself and must say it's almost as good as playing it on the DS. The controls are nice, the game feels great, and the story is well done. The only problems with the game are some weird camera movement, and how repetitive it is. I mean for god sakes I can only go visit Agrabah a certain amount of times.
If you are a fan of the series you will love this game and if you have never played any of them then this game will still please though, I do reccomend picking up Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 first, but it's not necessary.
Not sure how exactly but somehow the FCC is making AT&T allow Voip(Voice Over IP) enabled so that means eventually, Skype over 3G. This basically means i can call my friends on their computers from my cell without paying a cent more than i do now.
AT&T today announced it has taken the steps necessary so that Apple can enable VoIP applications on iPhone to run on AT&T's wireless network. Previously, VoIP applications on iPhone were enabled for Wi-Fi connectivity. For some time, AT&T has offered a variety of other wireless devices that enable VoIP applications on 3G, 2G and Wi-Fi networks. AT&T this afternoon informed Apple Inc. and the FCC of its decision.
AT&T won't be making much money from this but we can all agree this can't be bad for consumers.
Well i finally got the e-mail informing me that i could now sign up for Google Voice. Now many people who don't know what this is, will be excited to hear it's free, has more features than you could ever think of for a phone, and is just simply awesome. Google Voice is basically a free number you get from google that allows you to have one central number you can give to people. It's amazing because it sends the call to all your different types of phones via; Cell, Home, Work, etc. that you specify. Not only does it help forwarding to where you want it, you can also view all the voice mail you receive from your computer anywhere in the world. Google Voice also provides features such as completely free SMS(text messaging) to all phones right from your computer, call screening, listening in on voice mails as they are being made, and the two biggest features are call recording and personalized voice mail messages.
While you are in a phone call you can simple press 4 and you call is now being recorded and saved to your google voice account so you can listen to an important conversation you had earlier. Personalized voice mail also is huge because you can theoretically have a different voice mail message for everyone of your contacts(if you really want to take the time). This is big so that you can have ones for specific groups such as friends and family vs. clients or job related types.
One last feature is the ability to have you voice mail audio e-mailed or texted to you in text format of what he/she said soon after the caller recorded it.
For a complete list of those features and more check out Google.com/voice
