Dialoggs - Finally a possible solution for productive communication

As a blog with 11+ writers, it’s hard to find a good tool to allow seamless communication with fellow Okay Geek editors and staff. Sure email works alright most of the time, but it’s messy, bloated, time consuming (really time consuming) and distracting. Then there is the lightweight ability to quickly shoot out a DM on Twitter, but there you’re limited to 140 characters, so efficient communication often results in sporatic broken conversations that take a bit of work to understand. What Dialoggs wants to do is create a closed inviornment for focused, un-restricted and lightweight discussion for creative teams - here’s what you need to know.

GOAB - A new way to watch and share the tv experience

There’s so many ways to watch “television” programming nowadays, though there doesn’t seem to be a way to bring it all together for people to share the experience in real time. And here in lies the power of GOAB, a concept by Syzygy Labs that takes tv and implements tools to enhance and expand it. Will we ever see anything like in our living room? I sure hope so.

This is How iPhone Notifications Should Be

It’s a given that the iPhone’s intrusive notification system sucks but no one is really sure how Apple will end up doing notifications when the new version of iOS hits. Andreas Hellqvist thinks he has an idea. Although I personally do not agree with every aspect of his design, I believe he has some brilliant ideas that are worth a look.

What we don’t really pay attention to is how useful some of these designs make the products, and in the video by MattsMacintosh we see some features that really explain why people loved certain Apple products.

Giant wind powered walker on the beach - Video

This creeps us out on many levels - it’s huge, it can chase after you and you can’t remove batteries to stop it. Of course you could beat it with a stick, but that would just make it angry. The beast is called Ventosa Siamesis and it stands 5 metres tall and 10 metres long. It’s made from recycled plastic bottles and plastic tubing. It’s powered by air, and can trap air into a “stomach” to use as a power source if the wind stops.

From inside the @Milk Office - Photo collection

Not too long ago, Kevin Rose left Digg and started his own company called Milk. The company’s Twitter account and it’s employees  have been tweeting out photos from inside their new offices, and like a lot of folks who follow Kevin Rose and his endevours, it’s awesome to have a rare opportunity to watch a company evolve from day one. Here are some photos from inside the Milk offices — feel free to add more in the comments.
