Watch The Hobbit "Making Of" video blog with Peter Jackson, in case you've missed it

Lord of the Rings is something every geek far and wide holds close to them, and when the books written by J. R. R. Tolkien were brought to the big screen, the journey finally felt complete… almost like a chapter in history was finished. To much excitement, Peter Jackson has taken on the project of bringing The Hobbit to life, telling the story before the Fellowship set out into Middle Earth towards the Black Gates of Mordor. Even more awesome, Peter Jackson has decided to start a video blog to document the making of The Hobbit as it happens — Videos below (almost 50 minutes of behind the scenes footage.)

Just a few days shortly thereafter, maybe even hours after his death was confirmed, Sony was already negotiating for the rights to make a biopic on the life of Apple’s late CEO. And with production moving smoothly, the same guys who slapped together the Academy Award nominated Facebook film, The Social Network, will soon have to make up their mind on who gets to play the role of Steve Jobs. In the eyes of tech-enthusiasts, there’s only one clear choice and that’s Noah Wyle, who played Jobs in the made for tv movie Pirates of Silicon Valley. But now word on the street is it that George Clooney, one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, would also like to throw his name in for consideration. — More after the break!

Phoenix Wright's live-action film actually stays true to its source material -- (trailer)

Only in Japan could you make a full-on movie based off a video game that exagerates the way a court, case, and lawyers do their work. Staying true to the game (Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney) and its visuals and meme-worthy quotes, like “Objection!”, the recently released trailer for Gyakuten Saiban gives us a glimpse into what will surely be an enjoyable film for fans of the ongoing game series.

It’s pretty safe to say that Dark Knight Rises is the most anticipated film of 2012 by far. It’s predecessor became the third most grossing box office smash, third only to Titanic and Avatar — both creations of James Cameron. This next installment is sure to be one to watch for, and especially due to its interesting choice in its cast and villains (Catwoman and Bane primarily). When it comes to Super Hero movies, original ideas aren’t a plentiful commodity and the genre as a whole is riding the wave of mainstream nostalgia on a year to year basis. Completely out of left field comes a movie called “Chronicle” that tells the story of kids who get Super Powers, but what’s refreshing is it’s very real and impeccably grounded in reality. Not much is known, but whats for sure is that we’re already fans of Chronicle!
