HP Hurricane WebOS tablet rumored for Q3

It has been about a week since the whole “HP buys Palm” ordeal - and even though that was exciting enough, HP and Palm have put together a little think tank and come up with the very predictable idea of bringing a WebOS based tablet to the public by Q3 this year.

HP confessed it would be “doubling down on WebOS” and that it has big plans to “scale across multiple connected devices” and according to a report over at the Examiner, a tipster who is an “insider at HP” has told the site that “a webOS tablet under the code name HP Hurricane could be released the third quarter of this year.”

The whole Palm/HP collaberation is starting to make sense now, for a number of reasons: HP putting the Slate out of existence, and pegging to take WebOS places it has never been. The HP Slate may be dead, but I feel there is going to be a resurrection under the new name Hurricane, but this is all still rumors floating in the delicate balance of pure possibility. We would be shocked to see HP turn down a WebOS tablet, but we would be even more shocked if you don’t think this is going to be completely awesome!

Interesting look into Imagining the iPad café

Accomplished Journalist @MarkMilian has decided to imagine the experience with an iPad in a Cafe - and in such a small article, and for how simple it is, it really does open some ends of thought. It simply goes through the motions of using an iPad in a coffee shop, but raises a few ideas - one of which is “what if more cafés had iPad users in them?” - What would that be like? They would be there for a different purpose of course, maybe not to write a report, or work on their novel, but they would most likely be less stressed, working on smaller tasks. The interesting part that Mark mentions is that “What if cafés offered iPad keyboards for a small amount of change added to the price of your coffee?” I dig that…

HP Slate is Dead? Building WebOS tablet instead?

What the hell is going on! First they kill the courier, and now sources are claiming that the HP Slate is Dead - and every geek in the world has lost all hope of any good tablet besides the iPad. If something doesn’t change, this will be the end of any good competition for the iPad and Steve Jobs will rule the market once again, but this time its tablets - More info after the break!

WePad Gets Working Interface Demo

WePad Gets Working Interface Demo

At the moment the WePad (clever name) is the only clear shot rival to the iPad, of course until HP’s unnamed slate decides to break silence and really show off what it can do - though early reports are saying it doesn’t compete with Apple’s product.

The WePad will be due out later this summer and with some pretty sweet specs too.

Also, did anyone else catch how fast the guy in the video was speaking English? I mean, the dude speaks it faster than I do and he’s got an accent!
