iPhone Worldwide SMS Hack Coming Thursday | 30th Jul 09

Two researchers have found an iPhone bug that could infect phones virally via SMS.They plan to reveal the still unpatched iPhone bug at the Black Hat cybersecurity conference in Las Vegas on Thursday. If you receive a text message with a single square character, you are advised to immediately turn off your iPhone, as they warn it means that someone has utilized the bug to take over your iPhone.

This is serious. The only thing you can do to prevent it is turn off your phone,” said cybersecurity researcher Charles Miller. “Someone could pretty quickly take over every iPhone in the world with this.

The two found the bug in how the iPhone handles text messages.Once in control, the hacker has complete control over your iPhone, allowing them to make calls, visit websites, turn on the camera and more importantly they can send the bug via SMS.
Well over a month ago, they have reached out to Apple, but have not heard back.

Charles Miller isn’t new at finding security flaws in the iPhone. Back in 2007, Miller found a bug that allowed someone to remotely hijack the iPhone via the browser.

It’s not clear if Apple has included a fix in iPhone OS 3.1, which recently entered beta 3 stage, so will not be ready by Thursday. Be careful out there and perhaps we’ll have more information come Thursday on a possible fix from Apple.

Billy Mays Found Dead Sunday morning

Billy Mays, the burly, bearded television pitchman known for his boisterous hawking of products such as Orange Glo and OxiClean, has died. He was 50.

Tampa police said Mays was found unresponsive by his wife Sunday morning. A fire rescue crew pronounced him dead at 7:45 a.m.

There were no signs of a break-in, and investigators do not suspect foul play, said Lt. Brian Dugan of the Tampa Police Department, who wouldn't answer any more questions about how Mays' body was found because of the ongoing investigation. The coroner's office expects to have an autopsy done by Monday afternoon.

Early this afternoon, Billy May's son twittered that his dad was dead. Such an awful thing to have to do!

Let us show our respect to this Infomercial legend. Enjoy the video Please leave your respect in the comments.

How Michael Jackson's death shut down Twitter

The internet came alive like never before as people around the world logged on to follow the stunning news of Michael Jackson's death.

The story created such a surge in online traffic that Google returned an 'error message' for searches of the singer's name as it assumed it was under attack.

And just seconds after the story broke on the American entertainment website TMZ.com, messages or 'Tweets' about the singer on the micro-blogging site Twitter doubled, leading to a temporary shutdown of the site.

This graph shows the surge in internet chatter about Michael Jackson on Twitter as reports came in that he had died

The number of Jackson tracks being listened to on the internet radio Last FM leaped following his death

YES! iPod touch Bluetooth Unlocked! in the OS 3.0 Update.

It was a real downer for iPod touch 2G owners to find out that the nike running accessory connects to the iPod touch via Bluetooth. "We cant use it for anything else!!" thats what I was thinking when I heard this.

Ever since then, iPod touch owners have been begging for the next OS update to have the Bluetooth enabled for all devices. Now one side note, all the cool stuff apple has done in the past 6 months, has been without Steve Jobs.

Hmm and ever since Bill Gates left Microsoft they trashed vista and came up with Windows 7, which is better than any OS out there. Is it that maybe when a CEO works for a company too long, that they maybe, perhaps, get OLD FASHOND. Take this for example, they put Safari 4 out to the public... IN BETA!!! Apple never does that! Unless steve has left. Now look at this. Uncovering a new functionality in the iTouch, now? Why not let the Bluetooth be free right off the bat?

These are images fresh from my iPod touch just after Upgrading! So this came with ALL iPods since day 1 but nobody got to use it till now? Apple might be coming up with something... (different then last week lol)
