With the introduction of the new iPad 2, Apple released something called “Smart Covers” which protect the screen of your iPad 2 and automatically wake it up when the cover is lifted. Shortly after the iPad 2 went on sale though, complaints started to surface that the back of the iPad 2 was getting all scratched up and since the Smart Cover doesn’t protect the back of the iPad 2, everone was out of luck… until now.

This is a “stress test” performed using blocks of wood and a 2x4 — not exactly what you call “professional”, but nevertheless it proves the point that the iPad 2’s screen bends like no glass has ever bent before — just makes us wonder why the entire iPad 2 can’t bend like that…

The technology inside Apple's iPad 2 blows us away
iPad 2 benchmarks are blowing other tablets out of the water, and the inside of the device is as Apple-ish as it gets. iFixit ripped apart Apple’s latest device to find a bunch of familiar hardware, along with 3 massive batteries and that all of the parts were manufactured just months before the iPad 2’s release.
