PSP Go gets its First mod - White LED mod makes it that much cooler!

The PSP Go looks like it could be the coolest moddable device out there. With a fair bit of power and many more PSP 1st Gen and PSP 2000 hardware and software mods done before, we expected no time at all after the release for this thing to have something done to it.

The first PSP Go mod we've seen, done up by roro3030 over at AcidMods, keeps things simple with some strategic, surprisingly tasteful white LED placement. Its neat because the LED's are powered internally, by the PSP's own battery.

Everything's Molding to One

It's the sign of the times when you find your favorite gizmo is compatible with something that doesn't seem right. Take for instance Observe and Report . It's available on "DVD, On Demand, and Game Consoles". Note the third option. Game Consoles? Since when!?

One of the other things that worry me about gadgets that access the vastness of information technology is that cellphones are increasingly becoming the way to view the web. Basically, cellphones are the new laptops, in just a few short years after laptops beat out desktop computers in sales.

To make matters worse (or better, depending on the perspective), the iPhone and cellphones in particular are becoming an attractive proposition for game developers. Soon we'll have one device that just does everything we need... or we're already there and we're just nurturing it during the first generation of such devices. To put in modern contexts, why would anyone buy a PSP Go when you can buy an iPhone 8GB? Or heck, why get a PSP Go when Zune HD seems to be promising... and still cheaper?

While it's interesting to see what will replace cellphones in our never ending desire to communicate and access information, I'm just playing the old guy (even though I'm way too young to say that) and defending the faithful desktop computer.

Besides, the desktop computer is the foundation for all that other hardware gadget lovers take for granted anyway.
