Every Google Logo ever made since 1998

We all use Google without thinking about it - every single day, and maybe even 20 times a day or more. What we do notice, however, is that sometimes they change their logo to celebrate an event, such as the anniversary of the moon landing for example; the interesting thing though is that Google has been up and running for just over 12 years, so those titles add up over time. Some of the old logos are butt ugly, but most of them are really neat and inventive.

Take a look into the Google Logo Archive:

Official iPad commercial Debuts at the Oscars

And we are back to the iPad - with a really wicked commercial made by Apple which debuted at the 2010 Oscars, which explains why Steve showed up there. It is 30 seconds of exciting footage of the iPad in action paired with the song "There goes my love" by The Blue Van.

We also made an ad for Apple because we like the iPad enough to sit in front of a computer for 2 hours piecing together our own masterpiece. We used the song "Moar Gosts n' Stuff" by Dead Mau5.

Leo Laporte and friends get random woman 3,200 followers in 40 min

A random act of kindness during the recording of TWiT - Episode 238 gave Lisa Etheridge a solid 3,200 followers in less than 40 minutes at an alarming rate of 80 followers per minute or 1.3 followers a second. She got her mass Twitter followers after Leo and Kevin Rose were inspired by Conan's previus act of kindness and it was up to Kevin to find a user at random and Lisa was that user.

After they mentioned her on the show, her follower count increased to about 1000, but after the story made it to the front page of Digg, her follower count rocketed to 3,200 and beyond. Near the end of the Episode, Leo seemed worried that she may not be as enthused about this as they were, so he offered to buy her an iPad and pay for her SMS bills. You need a pat on the back Leo!

Photo - Steve Jobs shows up at the Oscars

Yes, Steve decided to take a break from his iStuff - and make a visit to the Oscars and enjoy the scene. Wayne Sutton was walking around at the Oscars and spotted Mr. Jobs wandering around and making friends. He tweeted "OMG it's Steve Jobs! I'm the only one yelling at him!" and I imagine there was a swarm of geeks in the outskirts, trying to get a glimpse of their hero, sporting a handsome tux.

Lots of us are planning Oscar parties and get-togethers, but in New York, millions are about to face Oscar night without a broadcast. ABC's parent company suddenly switched off its signal to Cablevision customers and the two companies blasted each other for failing to reach a deal in a dispute over fees.
