Developers, developers, developers - Steve Jobs hates you

Not sure if you’ve heard yet or not, but Apple has recently decided to change its terms of service, which in turn is ticking off developers everywhere. Why? Read the following:

“3.3.1 — Applications may only use Documented APIs in the manner prescribed by Apple and must not use or call any private APIs. Applications must be originally written in Objective-C, C, C++, or JavaScript as executed by the iPhone OS WebKit engine, and only code written in C, C++, and Objective-C may compile and directly link against the Documented APIs (e.g., Applications that link to Documented APIs through an intermediary translation or compatibility layer or tool are prohibited).”

Now I’m no developer, heck I don’t code at all, but I do know that the process is a whole lot easier when you can use tools that make the task more streamlined and easier to accomplish. Enter the battle between a banding group of developers and the almighty Apple CEO, Steve Jobs.

iPhone OS 4 Hands on Demo

There is no more reason to jailbreak your iPhone - After Apple announced their latest OS last week, many people wondered what’s the point of jailbreaking anymore? I was lucky enough to get the new OS 4.0 through a developer I know, and I’ve been messing around with it for less than 24 hours, and y’know what? I already love it. I have had some weird glitches occur on me but they should all be fixed by official release this summer.

Steve Ballmer reviews the iPad

No multitasking and no Flash make Ballmer an angry man, even calling the revolutionary tablet nothing more than an ecth-a-sketch.

“Wait til I flood the market with a thousand of these things. It’s going to have Windows 7, Windows Mobile, azure, the cloud, it’ll have everything!”

Konami announces new Silent Hill game

Konami announces new Silent Hill game

Not much details were given during Konami’s annual Gamer’s Night down in San Francisco - nothing except that Konami would be publishing a new Silent Hill game for “next generation” consoles.

We’ve seen Shattered Memories on the Wii and Origins on the 360, but I’m betting this next installment is going to be a full blown, multi-platform game that isn’t just a mere spin off.

Breaking - Bloomberg states Palm's up for sale

Can you hear that? *dead silence* Yeah, that’s the sound of Palm’s future.

According to an article posted on Bloomberg, Palm’s putting itself up for sale and offers are expected to roll in sometime this week. This is pretty shocking news in its own right, but it’s made worse when you remember that Palm’s CEO Jon Rubinstein insisted that the company had several plans to draw a profit. According to the same Bloomberg article, HTC and Lenovo are both currently showing interest, while Dell’s adamantly passed on the offer. As to be expected none of the aforementioned companies are saying anything on the record but if this article’s correct, all hell’s about to break loose.

Inspirational Mug tells you to Create

Inspirational Mug tells you to Create

I’m going to say it; most of the population is full of nothing but consumers - people who go day in and day out without a single thought of creating something new.

Well, let’s throw out the playbook of the norm and start creating things. This is the age of DIY and innovation - anyone can do anything, so why not get excited and make things.

Ever needed an excuse to use Ovi Maps?

Ever needed an excuse to use Nokia’s Ovi Maps? If so then this just might be it!

In one minute and forty-four seconds - Nokia’s advertising team will try to convince you to load up Ovi Maps. Conveyed in a somewhat comical fashion, we couldn’t help but let out a giggle or two.

So just how persuasive is this ad? We’ll, once again leave that one too you.
