More and more features - What About the Battery?

I do appreciate all the advances in processor speed - and multi-tasking that our favorite handset makers are making. I do appreciate the glorious responsiveness of the touchscreens, the snappiness of your OS’s and all of the tight integration of my social networks with my Contact List. I even appreciate being able to truly have my handset become an extension of my desktop, help me when I’m lost, assist in making informed decisions regarding restaurants and gadgets and even keeping me updated on the World Cup. But who will step up to take on the greatest challenge of them all; Battery Life!

7 Masochistic Fan Made Video Game Challenges

Whether you’re a gamer or not anyone who’s ever touched a joystick of any kind should be able to appreciate the following videos.

Now, it’s common knowledge that the level of skill it requires to finish some of today’s games can be astounding to the casual player. But did you know that there are hardcore players who feel that these same games aren’t challenging enough?  So much so that players have gone so far as to impose their own fan-made limits, essentially creating their very own hard mode.

Even to veteran gamers, as Geekosystem put it, this borders on masochism! See all 7 Videos Here

Editorial - Before You Choose a Phone...

Everyone right now is chatting up the EVO, iPhone, Incredible or the next latest and greatest contract bait that our lovely big four are dropping on us - but let’s stop and think; getting one of these new sexy devices may mean you’re going to be signing yourself into a 2 year contract. Now this could be an abusive relationship or a healthy, mutually beneficial relationship, but you first have to go in knowing what you’re getting yourself into. And that’s where I come in.

Macs are far from dying off

Macs are far from dying off

“The Mac is alive and kicking for one key reason: money. Last quarter, Apple sold almost three million Macs, 33% more than in the same quarter in 2009 — the best non-holiday quarter in Apple’s history. Those sales generated US$3.76 billion in revenue over the quarter, or nearly a third of Apple’s overall revenue.”Chris Rawson, TUAW

Rumor - PS3 Price Reducing to $199

We heard earlier reports that Sony’s 3D-Compatible Products page was showing the PS3’s starting price at $199 instead of its current $299 price tag. Could this have been an accidental timed update or just a mere typo? At the moment we’re not sure, but it’s been corrected since then. However, a reduced price tag does fall in line with what analysts have been talking about for the past couple months, especially with previous talks of Microsoft releasing a Slim Xbox 360 to coincide with the launch of Project Natal. Could Sony be doing the exact same thing with the Playstation Move so they don’t get outplayed? Well, we won’t have to wait that long to find out with E3 literally just around the corner.

As a part of Steam’s Mac client campaign, they are holding a free weekend for Team Fortress 2 until June 13th. So what are you still reading this for? Fire up Steam and start fraggin’!

Is this Motorola's next big Droid?

So Motorola leaks have gone slightly crazy these past few weeks, but finally, we’ve got some shots of what looks to be Verizon’s (and Moto’s) next big Droid. Now, the original Droid may be one of the best selling Android handsets world wide, but it looks as though that hasn’t stopped Motorola from making several substantial changes. Firstly you’ll notice the unusually placed d-pad has been removed (yes!), and it looks as though Moto’s gone for a more tactile / usable keyboard. As for the gaudy silver bezel, it’s too “silvery” for our liking — however, beauty’s in the eyes of the beholder.

Inside you’ll find a 750MHz OMAP processor, a 3.7-inch display, a 5-megapixel camera, 8GB of internal storage, as well as an 8GB microSD card. Unlike the mysterious Droid Xtreme / Shadow that’s been shown off, this bad boy doesn’t have an HDMI port and surprisingly lacks Froyo (oh well, you can’t always have the best). If you happen to have thirty-one seconds free, there’s a video of that lovable Droid boot screen in action after the break.
