New Mortal Kombat Game Revealed

Any true Mortal Kombat fan knows that Mortal Kombat II was undeniably the best MK version ever! The dark tone of the game and the brutal fatalities were just plain epic. It’s such a shame that the series has deviated from that original formula for too long. But not longer, says Ed Boon, original creator of the franchise, when talking to IGN about the upcoming release of a new MK title: “This game really is a response to what players have been demanding: mature presentation, reinvented 2D fighting mechanic and the best, most gruesome fatalities ever!”

Nexus One gets HD 720p video recording hack

Nexus One gets HD 720p video recording hack

Hmm, well this is an interesting one. After a little bit of top notch XDA-Developers ingenuity, the “true Google phone” now has the ability to record video in 720p. Of course (and here comes the but), to get this mod working you’re going to have to have Cyanogen’s CM5.0.8test3 (and up).

Oh, and Froyo isn’t supported just yet, but that seems like a small price to ask when compared to the might that is (not full) HD video recording. If you’re feeling adventurous and you want to give it a shot yourself, then go ahead and hit that green link. – Read More

Sample photos and video from the iPhone 4 Camera »

Sample photos and video from the iPhone 4 Camera

As for the video and photo samples, they we’re on Apple’s site all along, but buried way down in the iPhone 4 promo page tree. The video sample, stuffed in the features pages, is obviously shot by a professional, but if it is all actual un-touched footage from the iPhone 4, that’s really impressive.

Now for the photo sample, which is way down at the bottom of this page on the iPhone 4 site. The photos are amazing, and Apple notes that they are un-edited.

iPhone 4 Commercial - Fan Made

Well, since the new iPhone 4 is out in the wild I decided to make a commercial for it - because it’s going to be a bit before Apple launches their new advert, and I just couldn’t wait! So what’s in the ad? Well, I used some of the best bits from the Apple promo videos and also threw in some Bust a Move by Young MC. I edited it up with Sony Vegas, using the NewBlue FX plugins, and Audacity for editing the audio.

Video - GoldenEye Stand Off

Video - GoldenEye Stand Off

One of the most popular FPS games ever made, Goldeneye is one of the genre’s biggest staples. But why was it such a historical title? One word: multiplayer.

I can still remember times when all of my friends would go this one buddy of mine’s house, since he’d bring out his tv outside (with a long extension cord) so we could have a huge group of kids huddled around the Golden Gun action without his mom going nuts on us for making too much noise.

Good times.

Kevin Rose looking for a new CEO for Digg

On April 5th, Jay Adelson stepped down as CEO at Digg - to pursue bigger things, and Kevin Rose was put in charge. At the time of accepting the position, Kevin mentioned that this would be temporary, however, his following did not realize just how short of a run it would end up being.

After he described the job as a “nightmare” and becoming completely overwhelmed on his Twitter, Kevin has expressed that he’s on the hunt for the next Digg CEO, that way he can get back to doing what he does best - being the face of Digg. Again, Kevin is not leaving Digg, he is just looking for a new backbone.

Want to become the next CEO of Digg? You should probably watch Kevin’s Twitter account - @kevinrose

Toshiba's Best Friends AD

Toshiba's Best Friends AD

Toshiba may be behind the production of laptops and gadgety doo-dads, but I think they’re trying to send us a different message with this commercial.

The ad on the left is a obvious political statement towards the outdated way of thinking, that a dog and a monkey cannot share a platonic friendship together. This is not wrong, it’s time for acceptance. But if they need to be apart, they can at least come together as one with the help of a Toshiba notebook.
