The HP / Palm buyout’s all done folks, that’s right – HP’s now $1.2billion poorer (or richer depending on how you look at it). Palm’s been shaping the smartphone world since 1992 and now their gone… kind of. Despite being part of the world’s largest computer manufacturer, we expect to see some pretty impressive stuff in the up coming months — perhaps even sooner now that they’ve essentially got unlimited resources — oh, and by “impressive stuff” we don’t mean webOS printers (although we are partial to the idea). Nevertheless, we’re looking forward to a steady barrage of webOS smartphones, tablets, e-readers… and whatever else Jon Rubenstein and his engineers can slap webOS on. Here’s to the future. Long live Palm!
