After firmware update, Samsung Blu-ray players unable to play Warner and Universal movies
From the department of “What the hell, why isn’t my movie working?” — Samsung has updated their Blu-ray players with a bad update. The update results in users being blocked from playing Universal and Warner Bros. movies, which conveniently lock up after displaying the title image. Samsung has reverted back to an older (but functional) firmware version on its support site that should fix the problem for now. The thing is, users are still having problems downgrading to the older Firmware, and it seems like we’ll just have to wait for the “next” firmware version… whenever that arrives.

White iPhone 4 Unboxing - Video
We thought this day would never come — a White iPhone 4 in the flesh, and being un-boxed. The video is shaky beyond belief, and the quality leaves much to be desired — but we don’t care because this is what everyone has been waiting for. Now, we have a question for you…
Have you avoided getting an iPhone 4 because you want to have a white one? We want to know if your crazy enough, so leave your response in the comments, or @t3chh3lp on Twitter.
Sony slams the ban-hammer down on PS3 mod chip
Remember when the new PS3 mod chip took the world by storm? OzModChips had successfully hacked the PS3 via a USB dongle, and uploaded a video to Youtube on the 18th, which went viral immediately. The chip is available online for $153.00 and people have been purchasing them left and right — but now, Sony has finally decided to slam the ban-hammer down on the new mod chip.
Apple wants to have a Kill Switch for iPhones - Applies for Patent
The title says it all — Apple wants to have a kill switch to have more control over the iPhones they create. Apple has applied for a sleezy patent on technology that could render iPhones (or other devices) useless when Apple feels the device is being used wrongfully or by unauthorized users. The scary part is that they can also determine infringers through biometric information like a user’s face, voice, and even their heartbeat.

You can't block Mark Zuckerberg on Facebook »
“The title of this post kind of says it all. As pointed out by blockzuck.com, you can block anyone on Facebook except CEO Mark Zuckerberg. This kind of thing is funny, and adds a little personality to the site. But Facebook is getting way too big and culturally important for things like this to continue.” — Tech Crunch
Google Live Search will search as you type
Pressing “Enter” to search is so behind the times (even though we still use clickey buttons), and Google is starting to get interested. They’re planning to roll out a new feature set which will allow users to quickly see search results updated as they type, along with an auto-predicting search box (visible in the video). What really seems compelling is the accuracy of results you’ll get by seeing the current matches, before going into deeper territory. The video explains most of what I’m babbling on about…
