Razer Nostromo review

The keyboard isn’t exactly an ideal controller for gaming. It’s a long rectangular thing and you really only use the left half of it for executing gaming commands, with your right hand manuvering the mouse. That’s why dedicated gamepads such as the Razer Nostromo exist. Featuring 16 customizable keys and an 8 way directional thumb pad, the Nostromo offers a much more ergonomic way to game. But is it worth the $70 entry price? — Our full review after the break!

OmniTouch is Microsoft's projector based touch computer

In recent years Microsoft has been at the forefront of innovation in the tech game - you really only have to look as far as the Kinect for Xbox 360, or the overly impressive Courier to see what they’re capable of - continuing on with this trend, the Redmond based computer conglomerate has presented two very interesting touch based systems at the UI symposium, UIST 2012. The first project, OmniTouch, which in my opinion is certainly more sci-fi than its brethren, aims to turn any and all surfaces into a touch-enabled space. — More after the break!

Microsoft not sure what to do with Zune player or its brand

Since the introduction of the iPod, any device that would dare compete against it was doomed to failure since its release; Microsoft’s Zune player has turned to be no different. Though Microsoft seems to be a little dillusional on the subject, maybe even indecisive. After officially submitting a support page yesterday that clearly stated the Zune player was to be discontinued and the Zune brand to remain for the marketplace with the same name, the company pulled that page and appear to be back-pedaling. — More after the break!

If you’re a regular reader of Okay Geek, you’ll remember that we reviewed OCZ’s Agility 3 SATA III 6Gbps SSD a while back. This time, OCZ has sent us the Vertex 3 Max Iops SSD, which is their fastest SATA III drive. That being the case, we’ve provided plenty of benchmarks in our testing. How much faster is it than the Agility 3 and is that boost worth the extra price? — Our full review after the break!

Google opens its first "retail shop" in London to sell Chromebooks

What do Apple, Microsoft, and Google all have in common? Apparently, they’re all proud owners of retail stores! Well, actually Google seems to just be testing the waters; they’ve opened up a “Chrome Zone” within a PC World store in hopes to raise public awareness of their laptop/netbook frankenstein creation; the Chromebook. — More after the break!

Amazon's Kindle Fire will sell well with parents who always buy the wrong thing -- (SNL Video)

The Amazon clownin’ starts at the 0:48 second mark, but with that alluring $199 price tag it’s almost certain that parents will opt for the “generic” version of the iPad — not that owning a Kindle can be considered generic — but hey, it doesn’t sport that shiny Apple logo that’s become the status symbol for kids nowadays.

Swyp brings printing to the 21st century -- (Concept)

It’s quite interesting when you look at how computers have evolved over the past decades, while printers, have for the most part, stayed relatively the same, with the exception of a few minor tweaks and revisions to how images and documents get printed. Well, no more! There’s a new concept in town of what printing should be like in our touch-based, modern world. And boy, does it make me want to throw my money at my computer screen. — More after the break!
