iPhone will be coming to Verizon in 2010 - Rumor

First off lets get some things understood, this is still a pretty messy rumor and yes, you should be jumping for joy right about now! Looking forward, Apple has signed confirmed deals with Bell and Telus in Canada so the former exclusive iPhone carrier Rogers will no longer be top-dog. In the past, Non-Exclusivity has proved to be a very smart move by alot of smartphones, and Apple has gotten its feet wet with the Bell/Telus deal and they like the waters. All the Details after the break!

Apple has contracted to produce a UMTS/CDMA hybrid iPhone due in the third quarter of next year that will enable the company to sell a single global handset to all carriers, and specifically to Verizon Wireless in the US

According to a report obtained by Apple Insider

That is very interesting because CDMA is the standard that Verizon’s network uses, versus AT&T’s GSM. As any human could figure out there have been no comments from Apple or Verizon, but it’s not the first time the two companies have been linked, is that a bad thing? They are not swatting the rumors out of the way, and that is what companies do when they are bored (and not doing the said rumor). They are obviously working on something, and Steve is twiddling his thumbs, waiting for the praise.

iPhone 3GS VS Droid - Ultimate smartphone showdown

The iPhone is one of the most recognized and praised phones ever created and we even dubbed it as "the Jesus phone". But is this the best phone? Sure it is the most popular thing since the watch calculator but again, is it the best? Ever since DROID mania, the iPhone has been a little skiddish. With the 5 megapixle camera, real keyboard and bigger screen, the DROID looks to be the only plausible iPhone killer. Greg Kumparak takes a look at the iPhone 3GS and Motorola Droid head-to-head in a brutal teardown of every feature, aspect and weakness of each phone. Its broken up into 2 parts so enjoy, and don't be surprised, err-hmm, if you are surprised.

Pictures - Dell Adamo XPS Hands on

The Dell Adamo is truley a remarkable laptop. It is thinner than an iPhone and packs quite a punch in terms of features and quality. Engadget went hands on with it today and it is beautiful.

We're talking about a 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo low voltage processor, GS45 integrated graphics, 4Gigs of DDR3 RAM, a 128GB thin-micro SSD, and an LED 13.4-inch, 720p widescreen display. Its all pulled together by Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. If we're talking connectivity, it has Bluetooth 2.1, location awareness, two USB 2.0 ports (one on each side). Other packaged goodies that come with the pc include dongles for ethernet and VGA / HDMI, and for an extra fee you can grab a DVD+/-RW drive, a Blu-ray drive, or an external hard drive measured at 250GB or 500GB.

How much does this all cost? A pretty fair $1,799 considering that its all about the looks. Its a great buy for people who love great looking machines with very deep pockets.

AT&T Sues Verizon Over "there's a map for that" adds

So if you haven't seen the new Verizon Wireless adds yet, they show a nice map of the U.S. and the 3G coverage of both Verizon and AT&T. AT&T claims it makes new and existing customers think that they don't have coverage at all in many places around the U.S.. AT&T released in a statement:

In essence, we believe the ads mislead consumers into believing that AT&T doesn't offer ANY wireless service in the vast majority of the country. In fact, AT&T's wireless network blankets the US, reaching approximately 296M people. Additionally, our 3G service is available in over 9,600 cities and towns. Verizon's misleading advertising tactics appear to be a response to AT&T's strong leadership in smartphones. We have twice the number of smartphone customers... and we've beaten them two quarters in a row on net post-paid subscribers. We also had lower churn -- a sign that customers are quite happy with the service they receive.

I find it hilarious that AT&T really thinks they have any validity and would win but hey, it is America. AT&T starts listed off points such as,"reaching approximately 296M people" as if that means anything about 3G. AT&T does say that they have coverage with their 3G network where Verizon has no coverage at all. I think all us iPhone users can agree that we hope AT&T spends as much time creating more 3G coverage as it does making lawsuits.

HTC HD2 poses for the camera - Picture gallery

The HTC HD2 is one of the most anticipted phones of the year, along with the Droid and Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 -- but this phone is a little different. It is running HTC's version of Windows Mobile 6.5 which is already known to be one of the best user interfaces in the smartphone world. It looks like a DROID, but it looks alot cleaner. It does not have a real keypad, but the huge screen and quick and responsive UI mean a pleasent user experience and it doesn't look that bad either ;D
