Google Navigation Hands on Video

We apologize for being fanish, but Google has pulled off something with its new Navigation elements in Google Maps (or is it Google Maps in a Navigation app? It's hard to tell) that has serious ramifications for a navigation device industry used to charging money for functionality.

Paul Miller @ Engadget

Paul makes a good point, if this kind of business outlook, on Google's part, is successful this could change how this kind of navigation or GPS business model is implemented. We all know the reason why Google can make this, and give it away for free (with a new Android 2.0 phone) is because this is a very small part of their business. They have deep pockets.

But what does this mean for the other GPS/Navigation companies who's main revenue stream, is the software (and device) and also their main source of income. It seems very threatening for these other companies like Garmin, Navigon and others, to see a new Navigation app available for free which may be better, or "just as good" and they can't do a thing about it. Leave your thoughts...

HTC Droid Eris shows up in a Verizon training course

All the attention has been focused on the Motorola Droid like its going out of style, but little known it has a little brother called the "Eris". It is being made by HTC and we have no idea why Verizon is burying the launch of it alongside the Motorola Droid tomorrow apart from the slower CPU and older Android build, it is also a great contender for the smartphone market.

Any rumors that have been floating around, and any speculations of this being a "fake" device can all be put to rest, thanks to these screenshots of the employee training course.

We have all been waiting for the HD2 for a while now and HTC has really been pulling all the stops, with its genius ad campaign coming up, and now one of the smartest phones ever. Motorola Droid Copying Genesis Adds?

I just stumbled upon a friend of mine's tweet and discovered this awesome video back in the day for Sega Genesis. Tell me this doesn't remind you of the Android phone adds against Apple's IPhone just as this video is Sega Genesis Vs. the Nintendo(what ever one was out at the time).

Stream Your Xbox/PS3 Like Slingbox

The Spawn-720 is like a Sling-box for console games, letting you play most systems through a streaming client on you PC. It has been tested and isn't as expensive as some may think.

For those who don't know what a Sling-box is, it's a device that streams your videos from you computer/TV or what ever.

The Spawn HD-720 is great because you can use it to have "local play" over the internet! So does that mean possibly not paying for Xbox Live if you want to play custom games all day with your friends? The system costs about $200 but just like PS3 online, no monthly fees to use their system.

HTC "YOU" Commercials that all of you will see in 6 months

HTC has been known for its devices, and modified OS's -- Not its marketing, or ads (if there are) -- but now they are trying to become a household name in the US of A because, well, everyone else is. By everyone else we mean iPhone, Palm Pre, G1, Black Berry, and lately Droid among lots of other "Buzz" phones -- But HTC has been such an "Unknown" brand, but yet they are one of the most popular handsets ever.

The Taiwanese mobile handset maker is about to launch a multi-million dollar advertising campaign over the next 6 months. The company’s Executive Director of Marketing, Steven Seto, tells us that the campaign is designed to put the HTC brand will be in front of 95 percent of adult cellphone owners in the U.S.
